YG Entertainment will enter into a full-scale 'YG reboot' in the second half of 2025, accelerating the launch of a new group along with strengthening artist activities across the board.

Yang Hyun-suk, the chief producer of YG, released a video interview titled ‘BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, AND UPCOMING ROOKIES | YG ANNOUNCEMENT’ on YG's official blog on the 26th, unveiling a new master plan that includes not only BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, and TREASURE, but also debut plans for newcomers after about 7 months.

First, Yang noted that BLACKPINK's new song could be “announced soon.” The last time BLACKPINK released a new song was in September 2022, with the release of their second studio album [BORN PINK], marking a new release after about 2 years and 8 months. A large-scale world tour for BLACKPINK is also scheduled for July 5, heightening global fans' expectations as the comeback and tour coincide.

As a representative of the 4th generation, BABYMONSTER is set to release a pre-release single ‘HOT SAUCE’ on July 1, followed by a second single in September and a mini album on October 1, promising a flurry of activities. Yang explained, “'HOT SAUCE' is a song that captures the hip-hop sound of the mid-to-late 1980s,” adding, “It started from an attempt to reinterpret hip-hop music from 40 years ago with teenage members.”

TREASURE will make a comeback with a mini album on September 1 before entering a world tour starting in October. Yang noted, “Going forward, we will fully support TREASURE to release more than two albums each year,” announcing an expansion of their activities.

The video also attracted attention as it revealed YG's blueprint for new debuts for the first time. Currently, YG is preparing to debut two male groups and two female groups, among which the four-member new girl group has its number of members confirmed.

Notably, this new girl group will sequentially release practice videos before their debut, similar to BABYMONSTER, with the first member's reveal set for the 28th. The video ends with the phrase, “THE FIRST MEMBER OF YG'S NEXT GIRL GROUP. STAY TUNED,” capturing the attention of global music fans.

Yang emphasized, “We want to show the talents of the newcomers as they are,” stating, “We will officially unveil the transformed YG system starting in the second half of the year.” Particularly this year, the focus will be on the growth of BABYMONSTER, and since the debut of the next new girl group is planned for after next year, the release of practice videos is interpreted as a long-term fandom-building strategy.

With BLACKPINK's comeback, BABYMONSTER's consecutive comebacks and mini album releases, TREASURE’s mini album and world tour, and the launch of newcomers… YG is once again aiming for the global K-pop market with a 'full-scale offensive' planned for the second half of 2025.
