Actor Kang Yoo-seok recalled his chemistry with Go Youn-jung.
On the 26th, an interview with Kang Yoo-seok, one of the actors in tvN's 'Resident Playbook', was held at a café in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The tvN weekend drama 'Resident Playbook' (creator Shin Won-ho, Lee Woo-jung / director Lee Min-soo / writer Kim Song-hee / planning CJ ENM Studios / produced by Egg is Coming) has gained high popularity not only in buzz rankings but also in viewership ratings and video views, leading to its conclusion.
Kang Yoo-seok played the role of 'Eom Jae-il', an obstetrics and gynecology resident who is a former idol, and recalled his chemistry with 'Eomjaez'.
He recalled, "At first, when I met my friends and brother, I thought we might not get along well, since everyone except me was an I. They were all awkward, and I had to force myself to be over-the-top, but they were all introverts, so they didn't engage as much as I expected. It took a few hours just to switch to informal speech when we first met. Director Shin Won-ho said, ‘Aren't you guys done with formal speech yet? Switch quickly!’"
He continued, "Director Shin values the chemistry between the actors, so we went on an excursion beforehand and made sure to have many meals together this week. As a result, we gradually became closer." He added, "I was relieved because at first we weren’t close as colleagues. However, I then thought it wouldn’t be bad if we were less familiar with each other."
"Since we saw each other often during filming, we became close, right? We started shooting in October, but from episodes 5 to 6, we naturally became so close that when we later filmed in the clinic, director Lee Min-soo would say, ‘Stop chatting, don’t be too noisy.’ Whenever we met each other while filming, it was so nice to see one another. I remember we got scolded for chatting too much."
He also recalled his first impression of Go Youn-jung, who played the role of 'O Yi-young'. "Since 'Moving' was about to come out, I really thought she was a ‘face genius,’ and that she was ‘pretty.’ While acting together, I noticed that when we monitored, Youn-jung had this ability to draw in the screen. I thought that was a significant strength as an actor. I mentioned that there seems to be something overwhelming when viewed on the monitor."
Kang Yoo-seok said, "Youn-jung isn’t a drama major; she was a friend who studied art, but she was really good. It seems that she not only has a genius face, but also has great sensitivity in acting," while adding, "(Youn-jung) didn’t seem to react to my face."
