'When Life Gives You Tangerines' actress Kang Mal-geum showcased her diverse charm.

In the ENA variety show 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' aired on the 25th, Kang Mal-geum, who is active in various works including the drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines', appeared. In particular, the 2020 film 'Chansil is Lucky' was Kang Mal-geum's first lead role, winning several film festival awards and proving her acting skills and stardom.

Kim Ho-young asked, “Is it true that the works keep coming?” Kang Mal-geum noted, “Yes. I am currently filming a historical drama, and in the second half of the year, I will shoot Park Hae-young's 'Everyone is Struggling with Their Worthlessness,'” adding, “I will play a couple with actor Oh Jung-se.” Although the two have not appeared in the same scene before, they have been in the drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.'

Choi Hwajung teased, “So, did you have a scandal with Ha Jung-woo?” Kang Mal-geum replied, “At that time, we had a gathering to promote the movie 'Lobby.' I drank a 60-degree liquor, and while going to get some fried chicken and soju, I lost my memory in 30 minutes. When I got home, I fell asleep without even brushing my teeth,” explaining, “So, I conveyed my opinion to the director as an actor, and I received a photo. After requesting permission and posting the photo, Ha Jung-woo commented, '1 day.'”

Kang Mal-geum said, “That’s when the actors started commenting, causing a stir. I never expected my first scandal partner to be someone like Ha Jung-woo,” as she smiled brightly. Choi Hwajung asked, “Were you happier when you had a scandal with Ha Jung-woo or when you won six awards?” Kang Mal-geum replied, “I was happy to have a scandal with senior Ha Jung-woo,” making the audience laugh.

Kim Geum-soon and Oh Min-ae from 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' shared positive stories about Park Bo-gum and IU alongside Kang Mal-geum. Oh Min-ae, who plays IU's mother-in-law, recalled a scene where she slapped IU.

Choi Hwajung asked, “That slapping scene must have been challenging.” Oh Min-ae responded, “IU wasn’t the type to say let’s do it all at once.” She added, “I was ready to be slapped even if it took 10 times, which allowed me to approach it even more seriously,” saying, “I didn’t have a rough feeling like Geum-soon’s hand. Plus, isn’t my face quite youthful?” To this, Kim Geum-soon remarked, “IU’s face is even smaller,” expressing an understanding of the heart-wrenching sentiment.

As Kim Geum-soon, who puts IU in a dilemma, said, “In my first scene with IU, she was so beautiful that I was just staring at her. But IU said, 'I’m very scared.' It turns out my makeup was really scary,” while she praised IU's face.

Kang Mal-geum shared, “Park Bo-gum asked me for an autograph. It felt like the roles had swapped. I wondered if this was real, but I signed for him,” adding, “Since I only have a few days of special appearances, Park Bo-gum took care of me every day. He gave gifts to the staff and actors every day,” complimenting Park Bo-gum's nature.

Oh Min-ae, who interacted the most with IU and Park Bo-gum, noted, “It was great to film with IU and Park Bo-gum because they’re truly angels. They care for people well, and Park Bo-gum's speaking habit was 'thank you.'” She continued, “IU also looks after everyone on set very well, and she is truly kind,” repeatedly praising both.
