Choi Soo-young, Kim Sang-ho, and Jo Yoon-hee, the trio of alcohol-loving father and daughter, are showcasing their uncontrollable sober challenges in 'Second Shot at Love.'

The tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Second Shot at Love' (written by Myung Soo-hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun, directed by Jang Yoo-jung and Jo Nam-hyung, produced by Studio Dragon and How Pictures) is providing laughter and empathy through the sober challenges of the three family members centered around Han Geum-joo (played by Choi Soo-young). From the proclamation of the sobriety order to binge drinking trips and escape from a temple camp, their struggles in a war with alcohol can be said to be nothing short of remarkable.

# Proclamation of the sobriety order in an alcohol-loving family!

Facing wedding preparations, Han Geum-joo announced her broken engagement with a statement saying, "I prefer alcohol over you," and, unable to withstand the pressure from her mother Kim Gwang-ok (played by Kim Sung-ryung), she returned to her hometown of Bocheon Village. However, she was greeted by her father Han Jeong-soo (played by Kim Sang-ho) and sister Han Hyun-joo (played by Jo Yoon-hee), who were sitting right in the middle of a drinking party. Seeing this, Kim Gwang-ok declared, "There will be no more alcohol in this house!" blaming her daughter's love for alcohol on her father's and sister's early drinking education.

As a result, Kim Gwang-ok's crackdown on alcohol began targeting the three family members, but Han Geum-joo again found herself standing on the road while drinking and caused an accident. Seo Yi-joon (played by Gong Myoung), who caused a car accident while trying to avoid her, ended up injuring his leg, causing an uproar in the village regarding the injuries of the newly appointed head of the Bocheon Health Center, known as 'the God of Bocheon.' Unable to contain her surging anger, Kim Gwang-ok expanded the sobriety order to the entire Bocheon Village.

# From binge drinking trips to escape from camps, the never-ending war with alcohol

As alcohol became unavailable even in the shops of Bocheon Village, the trio's challenges to abstain from drinking seemed to intensify, but their alcohol-loving DNA proved to be more powerful than anticipated. For various reasons, the three became desperate for alcohol and eventually embarked on an out-of-town binge drinking trip, even going so far as to pretend to be sober to avoid detection. However, Kim Gwang-ok found a receipt bearing a large sum, shattering their perfect crime, and she expressed feelings of betrayal, even mentioning a divorce as well as disowning her daughters.

Cornered, the trio of family members was forced to enter a sobriety camp held at the temple under Kim Gwang-ok's orders. Although they confidently claimed they were not relying on alcohol but simply enjoying it, it was Han Geum-joo who crumbled first. Following her to a makgeolli bar were Han Jeong-soo and Han Hyun-joo, leading to an instantaneous escape. After Kim Gwang-ok went to the temple in search of them, upon hearing from the monk that all three had run away, she was astounded and ended up pursuing them when she discovered them at a valley makgeolli bar.

# Will it finally succeed? A reality test with supporter Seo Yi-joon is coming up!

After failing the sobriety camp, Kim Gwang-ok faced her family again with a more gentle attitude. This time, planning to rely on God, she decided to take a step back, believing in the power of love instead of using strict measures. However, the three of them took advantage of this and boldly declared that they had no intention of abstaining, leading Kim Gwang-ok to revert to a firm stance, stating that love was not enough.

Finally, a turning point is anticipated for the trio of family members, who have been difficult to control. They will undergo alcohol addiction tests and health check-ups at the Bocheon Health Center where Seo Yi-joon works. As this compulsory sobriety challenge now comes with a realistic motive, there are expectations that their attitudes may change this time.

The tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Second Shot at Love,' featuring the sober challenges of Choi Soo-young, Kim Sang-ho, and Jo Yoon-hee, will air its 5th episode on the 26th (Monday) at 8:50 p.m.
