Actress Choo Ja-hyun makes a strong presence on the small screen through the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama “Gyeonwoo and the Fairy.”

“Gyeonwoo and the Fairy” is based on a popular webtoon of the same name, depicting a youth salvation romance between a boy destined for death and a shaman girl from the MZ generation who tries to save him. In this work, which perfectly blends fantasy and romance, Choo Ja-hyun plays the original character “Yeomha,” which does not exist in the source material, and is expected to be responsible for the tension in the play.

Yeomha is a shaman who hides deep wounds and a desire for revenge behind a graceful appearance, engaging in a tense confrontation with the main characters, thereby increasing the immersion in the drama. As an original character not present in the webtoon, it stimulates curiosity among drama fans.

Choo Ja-hyun said, “It was interesting that Yeomha is a character not present in the original. I had a strong desire to challenge myself because I have faith in the production team and the actors I work with,” adding, “I have a desire to express the shaman with my own color.”

Choo Ja-hyun has left a strong impression with deep performances and delicate emotions in previous works such as “Little Women,” Netflix’s “Suriname,” and Disney+‘s “Trigger.” Especially in this work, through the character of a shaman who traverses the realms of reality and the spiritual world, she is expected to once again undergo an acting transformation.

“Gyeonwoo and the Fairy” features Choo Ja-hyun along with Cho Yi-hyun, Choo Young-Woo, and Cha Gang-yoon, and the first broadcast will be aired on June 23 at 8:50 p.m. on tvN.

Meanwhile, Choo Ja-hyun married Chinese actor Wu Yao-guang in 2017 and has a son. With consistent work in the industry, she is expected to showcase a strong presence in this drama as well.
