Can Oi-young and Gu Do-won, who have started a beautiful romance, continue until season 2 of Resident Playbook?
In the special episode of tvN's 'Resident Playbook' aired on the afternoon of the 24th, the 'Boisterous Friends' Go Youn-jung (as Oi-young), Shin Si A (as Pyo Nam-gyeong), Kang Yoo-seok (as Eom Jae-il), Han Ye-ji (as Kim Sa-bi), and Jung Jun-won (as Gu Do-won) shared behind-the-scenes stories at the cafe 'Gureung Dowon.'
Jung Jun-won greeted the other members with a cafe owner concept, and Kang Yoo-seok expressed his excitement by saying, "Is this the famous Gureung Dowon of Gu Do-won?"
Jung Jun-won suggested, "Let's introduce ourselves," and Kang Yoo-seok asked, "How does it feel to become a superstar?" Jung Jun-won replied, "No, I am not busy at all, and I am not a superstar," but the other actors continued to ask, "How does it feel to become the nation's boyfriend?" and "How does it feel to become the nation's otter?" Jung Jun-won responded, "I am not the nation's boyfriend," while smiling and thanking them for their popularity.
In response to the question, "How is it after Resident Playbook ended?" Jung Jun-won said, "It feels like a breakup. It's a bit tough," noting he felt the post-shooting blues for about a month after filming ended, adding that the broadcast ending brings a similar level of damage.
Go Youn-jung asked, "As Oi-young, I have a question for Gu Do-won. Did first-year Gu Do-won get scolded a lot?" Jung Jun-won replied, "Less than you guys, but I did get scolded," laughing.
Above all, it was mentioned that Oi-young's fashion continues to change as the drama progresses.
Han Ye-ji said, "But the interesting point is that the more you watch, the brighter Oi-young's clothes became," and Go Youn-jung confessed, "Before dating Gu Do-won, I wore my actual clothes, but after dating, the stylist provided all the bright cardigans and such." To this, co-star Jung Jun-won expressed surprise, asking, "Actual clothes?"
In the drama, Oi-young dressed comfortably in black T-shirts and pants before dating Gu Do-won, but as their romance deepened, Oi-young's fashion became brighter and lovelier.
Regarding Go Youn-jung's cool cursing scene, Jung Jun-won made a joke. In the drama, Oi-young got angry at her husband who suggested that the wife who was on the verge of death during childbirth should take a break for two months before having a son. Oi-young exploded with curses at her husband, saying, "The mother said she must convey this. If not, she will just leave the hospital."
Fellow actors said they felt catharsis during that scene, and Jung Jun-won asked, "I'm really amazed that there was no curse written in the script. There were no curses. It just said 'Oi-young curses,' but was that an ad-lib?" Go Youn-jung responded, "Just like this," blocking the rumor, while Jung Jun-won laughed, saying it was a joke.
When asked, "What is your favorite melodrama scene, oppa?" Jung Jun-won revealed, "In the playground, Lee Myung-won had Oi-young curse in my place, and whenever someone asks, I always mention that scene." Go Youn-jung added, "I feel the same. The filming set that day felt like today's weather. There was a slight breeze," recalling the moment. Jung Jun-won agreed, saying, "I didn't expect it to turn out this beautifully while filming."
In the drama, Gu Do-won said, "Please say that phrase once more," and Oi-young asked, "Is it okay if I like you?" and boldly confessed.
Shin Si A remarked, "After that scene, a lot of people seem to gather at the playground. Couples," and laughed, saying, "I want to check it out too." Kang Yoo-seok inquired, "If your heart opened at that moment, did Oi-young's 'I want to hug' mean 'I will hug you'?"
In Resident Playbook, Oi-young envies couples hugging at the bus stop, saying, "I want to hug. I also want to hug. Here?"
Recalling the scene, Jung Jun-won pondered, "Did it feel like, 'Is it okay to do this in front of the hospital'?" He added that he felt Gu Do-won would not hug in front of people. Kang Yoo-seok exposed, "That wasn't the case, they were hugging in the underground parking lot," and Jung Jun-won chuckled, saying, "I thought there wouldn't be anyone, so that was why."
Kang Yoo-seok mentioned, "The filming ended a year ago, but it feels like it just finished two weeks ago," expressing his empty feeling. Go Youn-jung said, "I feel like I broke up twice. I felt like I broke up once during the last shoot and also felt like I was breaking up during the final broadcast," lamenting.
Lastly, Jung Jun-won said, "The six weeks while the drama aired were truly the most exciting and happiest moments of my life. I sincerely want to thank everyone who watched Resident Playbook until the end," and Go Youn-jung stated, "I believe I'll be living as a slightly wiser second-year Oi-young. While being with Gu Do-won," adding, "I am overwhelmed and grateful for receiving much more love."
Kang Yoo-seok expressed, "I think Jae-il will gradually chase after Sa-bi more, but we'll find out how it goes when season 2 comes out," adding, "Thank you to all the fans for their love, and I was happy to play Eom Jae-il. If you want us back, we will come back someday, so please continue to support us and give us your unchanging love."
Meanwhile, 'Resident Playbook' depicts the process of residents dreaming of becoming wise doctors growing through their initial struggles. As a spin-off of 'Hospital Playlist,' it concluded on the 18th with a highest viewership rating of 8.1% (Nielsen Korea nationwide). Oi-young, who started dating Gu Do-won, received a ring and entered her second year as a resident. All characters hinted at pink romance and embraced a happy ending.
