"The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile" awakened the emotions of viewers with stages that did not favor any genre.
The KBS 2TV music talk show "The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile," aired on the 23rd, featured i-dle, Daybreak, Baekhyun, and Sanmanhansiseon, providing enjoyment with an uninterrupted and dynamic performance from start to finish.
The opening was decorated by i-dle (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Wugi, Shuhua), marking a new beginning following their rebranding. Starting with their debut song "LATATA," they seamlessly continued a medley of hits including "Queencard" and "TOMBOY," raising the energy of the venue. Park Bo-gum reminisced about a special stage with Minnie during the "Music Bank World Tour" and confessed, "I was captivated by Minnie's voice, which I heard through the in-ear monitor at that time," also remembering Minnie's birthday, which touched her deeply. It was a moment where Park Bo-gum's attentiveness, which does not overlook details even off-stage, surprised everyone once again.
They also shared stories about their new album "We are." i-dle introduced the title track "Good Thing" by stating, "It’s about catching a partner in the act of cheating," presenting a candid and bold storytelling. In response, Park Bo-gum remarked, "It turned out well. I was blessed. Leave someone like you behind," delivering lines relatable to a drama that filled the venue with laughter.
The stage was transformed into a festival atmosphere by Daybreak, who have consistently continued their music for 19 years. After energizing the audience with "HOT FRESH," they humorously introduced themselves, saying, "When the band started, the average age was in the early 30s, but now I am 49." Park Bo-gum also mentioned Daybreak, stating, "I heard you are called the ‘Okcheon Cha Eun-woo,’ ‘Seoul Gang Dong-won,’ ‘Uijeongbu Hyun Bin,’ and ‘Mapo Byun Woo-suk’ among fans," which made everyone burst into laughter. In response, the members cleverly asked, "Is today the last broadcast?" Park Bo-gum further added humor, saying, "I’m glad Park Bo-gum is not here," making the atmosphere more cheerful.
As Daybreak appealed with their hit trio of songs such as "Good," "Turn It Up," and "I’ll Make You Walk on a Flower Road," Park Bo-gum also noted their songs like "Bumper Car" and "Kick-Kick," expressing, "It’s really good music to listen to in the early morning, just like the team name." The stage of Daybreak’s "I’ll Make You Walk on a Flower Road," in which Park Bo-gum joined on piano, added fun with a pollen effect and flower road walking performance. Daybreak shared emotions with the audience once more through "Old & Wise." In saying, "I hope this song serves as comfort during life's turning points," Park Bo-gum conveyed heartfelt support by stating, "Now it’s our turn to cheer on your flower roads."
Next on stage, Baekhyun showcased his presence as a representative vocalist of K-pop with a soft vocal tone. In a conversation with Park Bo-gum, he candidly shared, "I felt that Park Bo-gum can sway the hearts of both men and women at the same time." In response to Baekhyun's remark about continuously taking vocal lessons, Park Bo-gum expressed, "It would be great if Baekhyun could teach me to sing," showing adorable attachment. In response, Baekhyun suggested, "Then let’s be friends," to which Park Bo-gum replied, "I will approach you through music stories," as they naturally shifted their seats, bringing cheerful laughter to everyone. The warm two-shot created by their close conversation left a warm afterglow for viewers.
Baekhyun, who dreamed of becoming a singer since 2nd grade, recalled his first experience at a karaoke and confessed, "I felt it then. I was confident my singing was somehow different from my friends." Following this, the karaoke act reenacted with Fly to the Sky's "Sea of Love" and Tae's "Look-Alike" showcased an amusing chemistry with Park Bo-gum and enhanced depth with a discussion about self-exploration contained in their mini album "Essence of Reverie."
In the corner "Stargazing Night," the folk duo Sanmanhansiseon, who received the Rookie of the Year award at the Korean Popular Music Awards just four months after their debut, presented sincere folk music. Sanmanhansiseon, who performed on mainstream television for the first time that day on "Park Bo-gum's Cantabile," conveyed their innocent impressions, stating, "I feel like I might lose my memory because too much dopamine is being released," and "Singing in front of so many audiences is scary and makes me nervous. It doesn’t feel real." They expressed their respect for the late Kim Min-ki by reinterpreting "Beautiful Person" in their own style, delivering honest sincerity.
Park Bo-gum remarked, "I could feel their sincerity in following in the footsteps of the late Kim Min-ki to pursue their own music." Sanmanhansiseon, who logically conveyed their philosophy as architecture students, said, "We chose folk music because we want to create sincere music that is close to everyday life," and added, "We want to make music that can be enjoyed daily, like chewing rice thoroughly." They also revealed a specific dream, saying, "I want to take over and operate a 학전 (Hakjeon)," along with a realistic goal of "earning 6 million won per month after tax," catching attention. The stage combining Park Bo-gum's piano performance with Sanmanhansiseon's vocals and guitar evoked warmth reminiscent of a university festival.
Meanwhile, the talk show "The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile," where music, sincerity, laughter, and resonance flow as one, is broadcast every Friday at 11:20 p.m. on KBS 2TV.
