The SBS weekend drama 'The Haunted Palace' features Kim Ji-yeon in a critical situation.
The SBS drama kingdom is showcasing 'The Haunted Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung and directed by Yoon Sung-sik), a fantasy historical drama that is receiving significant attention. The story follows Yeori, a shaman who rejects her fate, and Imugi, who is trapped in the body of Yeori's first love, Yoon-gap, as they encounter an eight-legged monster with a grudge against the royal family, resulting in a body-acquisition fantasy romantic comedy. As of the 9th episode, it has achieved a record high viewership of 11.4% and a nationwide rating of 10.7%, breaking its own highest ratings and maintaining a strong upward trend, according to Nielsen Korea.
In the meantime, the production of 'The Haunted Palace' caught attention by revealing an unexpected two-shot of Yeori (played by Kim Ji-yeon) and Imugi's sibling, Bibi (played by Jo Han-gyeol). In the released stills, Yeori is seen heading towards the 'eight-legged monster's' shrine, following Bibi. The absence of Gang-cheol (played by Yook Sung-jae) raises curiosity about the reason Yeori and Bibi entered the shrine together.
Especially, Bibi, who is observing Yeori with a frozen expression, looks completely different from his usual playful demeanor, suggesting that the situation is atypical.
At that moment, within the shrine, a chilling presence is revealed as they are greeted by none other than Poongsan (played by Kim Sang-ho), freezing the hearts of viewers. As the terrified Yeori and the cold glare of Bibi, looking down at her, intersect, questions arise about why Bibi, who had been a reliable ally, brought Yeori to this place.
As Poongsan, wearing a cunning smile while looking at the two, is added to the mix, curiosity peaks regarding Bibi’s true intentions for visiting the shrine, and whether Yeori and Bibi can safely escape Poongsan's threat, as the suspenseful plot intensifies with the upcoming broadcast of 'The Haunted Palace.'
Meanwhile, the SBS weekend drama 'The Haunted Palace' continues its soaring ratings and popularity, with the 11th episode airing tonight (Friday) at 10 p.m.
