Actress Hwang Jung-eum faced a property lien worth about 1.8 billion won during the lawsuit process with her ex-husband Lee Young-don.

On the 23rd, a representative from Hwang Jung-eum's agency, Y1 Entertainment, noted to OSEN, "It is true that Ms. Hwang Jung-eum has been subjected to a property lien. However, this occurred during her ongoing divorce proceedings. Once the divorce process is settled, it is expected to conclude smoothly."

On that day, a media outlet reported that Hwang Jung-eum faced a property lien amounting to about 1.8 billion won during her divorce process with her ex-husband, a businessman and former professional golfer Lee Young-don. It was stated that the steel processing and sales company, Geoam Co., where Lee Young-don is the representative, filed a lawsuit against Hwang Jung-eum for the return of a lending amount of 100.5 million won and additionally requested the property lien.

The subjects of the lien are two units of urban-style residential dwellings located in Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, owned by Hwang Jung-eum. The properties were purchased by Hwang Jung-eum in 2013, when she acquired 13 urban-style residential dwellings in Seongnae-dong for approximately 1.87 billion won. It arose because Hwang Jung-eum, who married Lee Young-don in 2016, had borrowed corporate funds from Geoam Co., and she did not repay this during their marriage. Additionally, Lee Young-don personally also filed for a lien of about 100 million won on the same property.

However, Hwang Jung-eum's side anticipates that once the divorce results are finalized, the property lien will also be resolved smoothly according to the partitioning of assets.

Hwang Jung-eum married Lee Young-don in 2016 and they have two sons. The couple experienced a divorce crisis in 2020 but reconciled after about a year, leading to the birth of their second son. However, after eight years of marriage, they are currently undergoing divorce proceedings.

In addition, Hwang Jung-eum is under suspicion of embezzling about 4.3 billion won from a one-person planning company established under her family law corporation. It is reported that she invested 4.2 billion won of this in cryptocurrency "coins," but it failed. As a result, significant portions of her appearances were heavily edited in the final episode (12th) of the SBS Plus and E-channel entertainment program "Solo, Because I Am". Hwang Jung-eum has currently expressed her strong intention to apologize and repay through her agency regarding the related issues and negligence.
