Band Na Sang-hyun has posted an apology in response to allegations of sexual harassment.
On the 23rd, Na Sang-hyun said via X (formerly Twitter), “I deeply apologize for the delay in my response,” adding, “First, I sincerely apologize to the author of the post and to anyone who may have felt discomfort or unpleasantness due to my past actions.”
Na Sang-hyun stated, “I ended up hurting the author under circumstances where I could not clearly remember specific situations after drinking. I am even more sorry that I could not deliver my apology directly at that time. I take this opportunity, albeit late, to apologize. I know it’s late, but I still want to personally apologize. If it’s okay with you, I would appreciate a personal message. Please refrain from any secondary harm towards the author.”
Na Sang-hyun remarked, “After being pointed out for my behavior while under the influence approximately 3 to 4 years ago, I reflected deeply and have been continuously working to improve with the help of those around me. Moving forward, I will reflect more deeply and strive to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again. I apologize once again to the affected party for the unpleasantness they experienced.”
Na Sang-hyun added, “I also apologize to everyone who has been concerned because of this incident. I feel heavier about my actions that did not align with the values I usually think and speak about. I will create clearer standards and work towards maintaining the values that I hold dear through my actions. Once again, I convey my apologies.”
Previously, a post alleging sexual harassment by Na Sang-hyun was made public on an online community. The author of the post claimed, “At a drinking gathering, Na touched the thighs of a woman next to him while pretending she was drunk. If the woman was sober and expressed surprise, he would respond that it was a mistake,” and added, “I am writing this compilation based on what has happened and what I have heard. I am vague to avoid being identified. I apologize. There is no proof as this was in a private setting.”
While the post was initially considered a rumor due to the lack of evidence, reactions have surfaced questioning whether it is not a fact now that Na Sang-hyun has personally taken to apologize.
