With the second TV debate taking place today (23rd) ahead of the 21st presidential election, some programs on major broadcasting companies will be canceled.
The debate, hosted by the Central Election Broadcasting Debate Committee, will be broadcast live from 8 p.m. on the theme of "social issues" and will be aired simultaneously on the three terrestrial networks (KBS, MBC, SBS) and four comprehensive programming channels.
As a result, each broadcaster has decided to adjust or cancel the broadcast times of previously scheduled entertainment, drama, and educational programs. SBS's current affairs program "Curious Story Y,” KBS 1TV's "Catch Your Luck," and Channel A's "My Precious Little One" will be canceled. TV Chosun's parenting entertainment program "Our Baby Is Born" has also been canceled, and "News 9" will air later than usual at 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, candidates attending today’s debate include Lee Jae-myung from the Democratic Party of Korea, Kim Moon-soo from the People Power Party, Lee Jun-seok from the Reform Party, and Kwon Young-guk from the Democratic Labor Party, where they are expected to engage in a heated discussion on closely related topics such as social conflict resolution measures, pension reform, and healthcare policies.
This debate can also be viewed through the official website and YouTube channel of the Central Election Broadcasting Debate Committee.
