Member of the male duo Clone, Kang Won-rae, has drawn support from fans with his artwork that captures feelings of depression.
On the night of the 21st, Kang Won-rae posted a photo on his personal social media account with the caption "Words often spoken when experiencing depression." The photo showcased a frame of a painting that Kang Won-rae appears to have recently completed, drawing attention.
Along with this, he added meaningful quotes as hashtags, including "#IWantToSleepWell #IDon'tWantToDoAnything #TheWorldIsFineWithoutMe #I'mJustTired #Meaningless #DullDailyLife #WhoIsLookingForMe #Guilt #IWantToDisappear." These quotes were artistically expressed in the artwork completed by Kang Won-rae, leaving impressions of admiration and regret.
Kang Won-rae, who majored in industrial craft at Gangneung University and has a background in art, has recently showcased various images and quotes transformed into unique calligraphy artworks through social media, evoking admiration from fans. Among them, a piece that artistically expresses feelings of depression has caught the attention of fans.
Kang Won-rae gained immense popularity in the 1990s as part of the legendary male duo Clone alongside Koo Jun-yeob. In 2000, he was diagnosed with lower body paralysis due to a motorcycle accident. In 2003, he married singer Kim Song, with whom he had a son, Kang Seon. Despite this, he continues to draw support and inspiration through various musical activities, artistic works, television appearances, and lectures.
Nevertheless, the inappropriate responses towards Kang Won-rae and his wife, Kim Song, have added to the sadness. Recently, Kang Won-rae revealed that he requested assistance from a staff member at a self-service gas station because he could not reach the gas tank while in a wheelchair, marking the first time he was denied assistance in 20 years. Even though Kim Song is living well with Kang Won-rae and their son, Kang Seon, she has been periodically troubled by mean comments stating, "You divorced well," evoking sympathy and outrage from onlookers.
