Actor Lee Jong-suk has recently clarified rumors of his breakup with girlfriend IU, while his lead comeback project ‘Law and The City’ is increasing anticipation by revealing teaser photos and the script reading scene.
The new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Law and The City’ (written by Lee Seung-hyun / directed by Park Seung-woo / planned by CJ ENM Studios / produced by Chorokbaem Media), which will premiere in July, is a drama about the joys and sorrows of a group of five associate lawyers who commute to the Seocho-dong legal town (lawyers employed at a law firm).
Based on the realistic experiences of writer Lee Seung-hyun, who is a practicing lawyer, and the stylish visuals of director Park Seung-woo, who has formed a dedicated fan base, strong synergy is expected. Additionally, Lee Jong-suk (playing Ahn Joo-hyung), Moon Ga-young (playing Kang Hee-ji), Kang Yu-seok (playing Jo Chang-won), Ryu Hye-young (playing Bae Mun-jeong), and Im Sung-jae (playing Ha Sang-ki) are set to come together as the ‘Law Avengers’ to depict the friendships of associate lawyers.
In the disclosed teaser photos, the daily lives of the highest-ranking Ahn Joo-hyung (played by Lee Jong-suk) and the lowest-ranking Kang Hee-ji (played by Moon Ga-young) in the Seocho-dong legal town are captured, drawing attention. The brightly lit office scenery of the two figures, always illuminated 24 hours a day, suggests the busy routine of associate lawyers. Anticipation builds for the unpredictable day of lawyers and clients with various backgrounds that will unfold in ‘Law and The City.’
In addition, the script reading scene, which allowed a glimpse of the acting chemistry between the five associate lawyers in Seocho-dong, caught attention. Lee Jong-suk showcased the depth of his career through his consistently chic tone and calm demeanor. Responding swiftly to the questions pouring in from all directions, he further highlighted the intelligence of the Ahn Joo-hyung character.
On the other hand, Moon Ga-young infused the passionate aspects of her character Kang Hee-ji, a first-year associate lawyer, into her gaze. While delivering her lines, she maintained eye contact with her co-actor, depicting the kind yet strong personality of the new lawyer Kang Hee-ji.
Kang Yu-seok, playing the chatty Jo Chang-won in the Law Avengers' dinner gathering, elevated the atmosphere with his signature high energy. Unfazed by the indifferent attitudes of his meal friends, his energetic demeanor ignited the gathering.
Ryu Hye-young, portraying the effective leader Bae Mun-jeong of the Law Avengers' dinner gathering, showcased a powerful leadership style. Reciting a variety of menu items rhythmically, she demonstrated the authority of a food master while cleverly navigating through difficult situations, captivating everyone with her striking charm.
Im Sung-jae, playing the well-intentioned individualist Ha Sang-ki, added realism to the daily life of an associate lawyer tired from work through his lifestyle acting. His ability to alter his tone of voice depending on whether he was at work or with friends brought laughter.
‘Law and The City’ proudly exudes a cheerful atmosphere from the very first breath, thanks to the enthusiasm of the actors who embody their characters. Even when exhausted from work or overwhelmed by people, the Law Avengers gather like moths to a flame during meal times and relieve their stress with endless chatter, further piquing curiosity about their chemistry.
