Jeong Eun-ji, who had given up on exercising, grabbed Lee Joon-young's hand and stood up again.
In the 7th episode of KBS 2TV's Wednesday-Thursday drama '24-hour Fitness Club' (directed by Park Jun-soo, Choi Yeon-soo / written by Kim Ji-soo / produced by CJ ENM STUDIOS, Bon Factory, Monster Union, KeyEast) that aired on the 21st, the fitness fanatic, gym director Do Hyun-joong (played by Lee Joon-young), made Lee Mi-ran (played by Jeong Eun-ji) overcome her 'exercise boredom' (exercise + boredom).
On that day’s broadcast, Mi-ran realized that the wounds caused by the breakup had not healed at all and declared that she would quit fitness. Hyun-joong stopped her from leaving the gym and asked for a chance to help her overcome her boredom.
Hyun-joong spared no effort to revive Mi-ran's dwindling passion for exercise through various sports outside of fitness, such as shooting and basketball. However, he only touched the deep scars etched all over Mi-ran's body. Contrary to Hyun-joong's expectations, Mi-ran showcased tremendous athletic skills, revealing the fact that this was a 'trace of effort' stemming from her desire to be loved by others, which only added to the heartache.
Mi-ran's depression deepened, but Hyun-joong went to her workplace, saying, 'Miss Mi-ran, I can't give up,' conveying his sincerity. Colleagues who misunderstood them as a couple even added their enthusiastic support, prompting Mi-ran to reluctantly accept Hyun-joong's proposal, which brought a smile.
Amid Hyun-joong's persistent pursuit, the two set out on a hike together. Contrary to Hyun-joong's wish to inject vitality into her body and mind, Mi-ran's expression grew darker, and she ultimately vanished into the mountains, surprising viewers. As Hyun-joong desperately searched for her, he discovered Mi-ran standing at the edge of a cliff and said, 'I won't leave you alone like I was. I can help you, miss,' blocking her path. It was a dramatic situation, but it was revealed that Mi-ran was simply suffering from a mild stomachache, which made viewers burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, Hyun-joong candidly opened up to Mi-ran about his past for the first time, drawing attention. Born smaller than a 1.5kg dumbbell, Hyun-joong was overlooked due to his small and weak physique, but with the help of the first gym director of 24-hour Fitness Club, Dong Han-cheol (played by Choi Mu-sung), he was able to become stronger. However, just when he felt he had gotten stronger, he was abandoned by Director Dong.
Listening to Hyun-joong's story, Mi-ran comforted him by saying, 'Show me starting with you, director. It means we can overcome it if we don’t give up.' In response, Hyun-joong visited Han-cheol's hospital room holding the trophy from the Davide tournament and realized, by looking at the exercise diary written by Han-cheol, that he had never abandoned him, which filled him with emotion. Mi-ran, too, gained the strength to end her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Yeom Jun-seok (played by Jeong Uk-jin), thanks to Hyun-joong's sincerity, who did not give up on her.
As Mi-ran overcame her boredom and returned to stamp her attendance at Hyun-joong's gym, at the end of the broadcast, Hyun-joong's ex-girlfriend Kang Sol (played by Park Hae-in) made a surprise appearance, foreshadowing a twist. Hyun-joong was shocked to see her name on the PT contract, while Kang Sol smiled with ease and said, 'It's been a while, oppa.' This sudden appearance of Kang Sol at Hyun-joong's fitness club raises questions about the reason behind it, sparking curiosity for the next episode.
