In 'Seo Jang-hoon's neighbor millionaire,' Millanonna expressed her sorrow over losing colleagues during the Sampoong Department Store collapse.

On the 21st, EBS and E Channel co-produced 'Seo Jang-hoon's neighbor millionaire' (hereinafter 'neighbor millionaire'), featuring 'the hippest grandmother in Korea,' Millanonna Jang Myung-sook.

On that day, when asked if she considers herself wealthy, Millanonna stated, 'A person who shares is a true wealthy person. A person who shares their heart, material, and time is wealthy. A person who hoards everything for themselves is not wealthy. I have also written books that generate decent royalties, receive revenue from YouTube, and do advertisements. I send all the advertising revenue, royalties, and YouTube revenue to children in need. All the money I earn is used in that way and will continue to be used that way in the future.'

In particular, Millanonna, who enjoyed a glamorous heyday in the fashion industry, mentioned that there was an incident that changed her life. She said, 'The luxurious department store where I was treated very well collapsed,' referring to the Sampoong Department Store disaster on June 29, 1995.

At that time, due to shoddy construction and irresponsible management, 502 lives were lost, including her colleagues and friends who sadly became victims of the collapse. Millanonna noted, 'Because I was a consultant, I only worked on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I went to university to lecture. The department store collapsed on a Thursday when I was not there. So I always feel a sense of liability.'

She continued, 'A lot of my classmates and juniors sacrificed themselves. I keep asking myself, how did I survive? Going through such experiences, what is life? What is death? Society is a very harsh place, isn't it? Two days after the accident, I got a call from another department store asking me to work together. That shouldn't have been the case.'

Millanonna added, 'I maintained a routine for 100 days. For 100 days, I did nothing and prayed daily for the victims. Every day, as that day approached, I felt down. At that time, my outlook on life changed.' She stated, 'Having gone through various hardships, I decided to focus only on living the remaining time at a basic level and sharing the rest.'

In this way, Millanonna has been sharing and caring for children in orphanages for over 20 years. Millanonna said, 'I have learned a lot. I have become more humble and learned to be grateful, and my perspective on the world has changed. By regularly visiting various organizations over a long period, I feel like I am getting comfort in return.'

Finally, when Seo Jang-hoon asked, 'What mindset do you live with?', she replied, 'As long as I am alive, I want to live productively.' She added, 'I live altruistically. In the comments, a friend said they overcame panic disorder after watching my video and thanked me. My voice has become huskier as I've aged, but it made me happy to know I was able to help someone.'

Millanonna expressed, 'If I can help someone, whether financially or emotionally, I want to help.' She mentioned that she has registered for organ donation hope, organ donation in case of brain death, and posthumous cornea donation. Regarding this, she said, 'I try to avoid harmful chemicals and foods when I can. Wouldn’t it be great if I could share anything clean?' and smiled.
