The Netflix series "Gwangjang" has unveiled its main poster and main trailer.
"Gi-Jun," who cut his Achilles heel and left the world of Gwangjang, has returned after 11 years following the death of his younger brother "Gi-Seok," the organization's second-in-command, to uncover the forces behind it and seek revenge in the noir action series "Gwangjang."
The released main poster captures "Nam Gi-Joon" (So Ji-Sub) with a blank expression, clenching his fist tightly, intensely attacking someone. The red blood splattered on "Nam Gi-Joon"'s face and fingertips suggests ruthless and brutal revenge, showing the very essence of "Nam Gi-Joon" with a cold gaze that exudes no emotion.
The striking title of "Gwangjang," vividly etched in bright blood, paired with the caption "If you start, you must die to end," creates a powerful impression alongside the relentless portrayal of "Nam Gi-Joon" as he strikes his enemies without mercy, focusing solely on revenge for his brother. It heightens the anticipation for "Nam Gi-Joon"'s relentless narrative that will not stop until he reaches the peak of revenge.
The released main trailer begins with "Nam Gi-Joon" attending the funeral of his younger brother "Nam Gi-Seok" (Lee Joon-Hyuk) and captures his journey of revenge as he tracks down the forces hidden behind his brother's death, drawing attention.
His signature weapon, the baseball bat, along with his unrestrained fighting style that uses his whole body as a weapon, raises expectations for the diverse action scenes "Nam Gi-Joon" will showcase. Additionally, the remark by "Lee Joo-Woon" (Heo Jun-Ho) stating, "Anyone who commits a crime must pay the price," hints at the brutal rules of the world of "Gwangjang," and it raises curiosity about the wave of consequences "Nam Gi-Joon" will bring as he returns to pay back the broken promises of Gwangjang.
In the following scenes, the chilling smile of "Goo Jun-Mo" (Gong Myoung), the heir of "Bongsan," with a blood-smeared face, the son of "Lee Joo-Woon" who reveals hidden ambitions and prosecutor "Lee Geum-Soon" (Choo Young-Woo), the enraged head of "Bongsan" "Goo Bongsan" (Ahn Gil-Kang), the right-hand man of "Lee Joo-Woon" "Choi Sung-Cheol" (Jo Han-Chul), and the hidden member of Gwangjang who realizes that "Nam Gi-Joon" has returned, "Cha Young-Do" (Cha Seung-Won) all stir curiosity about the paths these characters will take amid "Nam Gi-Joon"'s cold yet fervent journey of revenge.
Meanwhile, ahead of the release of the main poster and trailer, the original creators of the legendary webtoon "Gwangjang," Oh Se-Hyung and Kim Gyun-Tae, sent their congratulatory messages after viewing the work in advance.
Oh Se-Hyung noted his satisfaction with the series "Gwangjang" by saying, "As expected, as always," and also conveyed the message, "I support the newly born 'Nam Gi-Joon!" which raises expectations for the series' unique and fresh story and visuals. Kim Gyun-Tae's congratulatory message featured a moment depicting "Nam Gi-Joon" smiling with his younger brother "Nam Gi-Seok" placing a hand on his shoulder, accompanied by a heartfelt message hoping viewers enjoy Netflix's "Gwangjang." The high synchronicity between "Nam Gi-Joon" and "Nam Gi-Seok" has already become a hot topic among fans, suggesting Kim Gyun-Tae's congratulatory image will hold more significance for original fans.
