The TV animation 'Samurai Champloo' popup 'Samurai Champloo 20th Anniversary YEN TOWN MARKET POPUP in SEOUL' will be held for the first time in Seoul, South Korea.
'Samurai Champloo' is a TV animation series produced in 2005 by director Shinichiro Watanabe, known for 'Cowboy Bebop,' with music by the globally popular artist Nujabes. Director Shinichiro Watanabe is currently airing an original work titled 'LAZARUS' for the first time in six years.
This popup will take place for three days from May 31 to June 1 in Hannam-dong, known as a shopping street frequently visited by young generations. A major highlight is that the 'samurai champloo music record Nujabes,' a 7-inch record box set commemorating the 20th anniversary of the airing, which sold out immediately after its release in Japan last year, will be resold for this event. Additionally, a reception party will be held on May 30, during which there will be deep communication with Samurai Champloo fans.
This 7-inch record box set is a collector's item limited for the 20th anniversary, consisting of six 7-inch records featuring themes and insert songs that Nujabes worked on during his lifetime, along with merchandise.
The jackets all have different designs for each of the six records, using impressive scenes from the opening video and more. Additionally, the merchandise features newly drawn illustrations commemorating the 20th anniversary of the airing, making it a special item that can be enjoyed not only by Nujabes fans but also by all music and animation fans.
The song 'aruarian dance' featured in the work won the Best Instrumental Song Award at the largest music award in Japan, the MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2025.
It continues to receive ongoing attention both domestically and internationally, as if the 20 years have not passed.
