Milano, the wealthy neighbor of Seo Jang-hoon, shared the reason she went to Italy for her studies and the story that followed.

On the 21st episode of 'Seo Jang-hoon's neighbor millionaire' produced jointly by EBS and E Channel, 'South Korea's coolest grandmother' Milano, Jang Myeong-sook grants appeared.

Milano, who answered 'Valentino Garavani' as her role model that day, said, 'The designer Valentino Garavani designed the wedding dress when Jacqueline Onassis married the Greek shipping magnate in 1968. It was surprising that he was an Italian designer, not American or French,' revealing that this was the reason she decided to study abroad in Italy.

She was the first Korean design major to leave for studies in Milan in 1978. Milano explained, 'I traveled from Korea to Taiwan, from Taiwan to Bangkok, from Bangkok to the Middle East, and then arrived in Rome,' stating that it took her a full 36 hours just for the transfer to reach Italy.

Above all, Milano caught attention by saying she married and set out on her journey abroad despite her father's opposition. She said, 'My father was conservative. He said a woman studying abroad alone was not acceptable, and he did not want a foreign son-in-law. So he promised to send me abroad if I got married. This was 50 years ago, so it's hard to imagine the social paradigms then.'

Thus embarked on her study abroad journey with her husband after getting married. Milano recalled entering her dream Milan and studying at a world-renowned luxury fashion school, saying, 'I always carried a recorder with me and listened to it repeatedly at home, studying hard.'

Above all, she was in the same class as Dolce from Dolce & Gabbana. She candidly said, 'The year I had my second child, that friend held a debut show. I didn't feel too good about it at that time.'

In a subsequent interview, Milano noted, 'My dream was to study abroad, become a designer, and have a boutique,' adding, 'I have no regrets at all now. I've lived much more diversely, so I got married, had two sons, and experienced a variety of life.'

After returning to Korea, Milano was busy with activities ranging from university lectures to consulting for costumes at the National Theater and the National Gugak Center, and as an advisor for major fashion companies.

Jonathan, who was quietly listening, asked, 'How much was your salary back then?' Milano replied, 'Why do you ask about a salary from 30 years ago,' but she later confessed that she earned over 100 million won at that time. Upon hearing this, Seo Jang-hoon added, 'At that time, the signing bonus for the best player in our country was around 100 million won. That’s a very high amount to have received,' expressing his admiration.
