Inbee Park confessed about her slump period on 'The Return of Superman.'

On the 21st, the KBS 2TV entertainment program 'The Return of Superman' (hereinafter 'Superman Returns') depicted the daily life of the Inbee Park family in the episode 'The greatest gift of my life.'

On this day, Inbee Park's first daughter, Inseo, celebrated her second birthday, and Inbee's parents visited their home. He introduced his parents by saying, "Inseo's favorite, as much as she likes mom and dad."

Inbee Park started golf at the age of 11 and went abroad to accumulate various awards. Her parents were always there to support her. Inbee's father said, "Inbee is an undeserving daughter to me. There are times when I think she is admirable," and her mother also said, "She grew up so wonderfully that I want to give her double, triple applause for being such a great daughter."

Inbee also revealed the story of how her parents traveled across the country to support her in changing a golf club during her junior years. She said, "Actually, it's not the club that's the issue, but dad always blamed the club and bought me a new one." Her father mentioned, "I came up from Jeju Island to Seoul every time for competitions, carrying the club back down," and felt proud, stating, "In the end, she won," while her mother added, "We used up all our retirement funds," drawing attention.

Meanwhile, Inbee's father expressed his disappointment, saying, "It feels empty to watch golf without Inbee now. I thought of Inbee a lot while watching golf today." Inbee responded, "Dad originally loved golf so much. He loved it so much that I started playing golf."

Inbee's father recalled mentioning the barefoot passion shot by golfer Se-Ri Pak, saying, "Golf players are truly incredible. I thought, can Inbee do it too? That day, I took her to the golf course. I think that was the turning point."

Thus, Inbee Park started golf at 11 and achieved a hole-in-one within six months, saying, "I did well when I was young." Later, her mother recognized Inbee's potential and moved to the United States with her two daughters without her husband during Inbee's middle school years. She shared, "I lived combatively for eight years. There was a notion that I must succeed. Not knowing it was hardship, I endured in a place where I couldn't even communicate." Inbee expressed her respect, saying, "Without being able to say a word in English, from the perspective of me being a mother, I don't think I could do it."

In particular, on this day, Inbee Park confessed about her slump period. She faced her first slump as a professional and even thought about quitting golf while crying. Her mother recalled, "She was a child who didn’t shed a tear even after winning a competition, but it broke my heart to see her crying, saying she couldn't do it. I told her, ‘One day, you will overcome this period, and there will surely come a day when you thank mom and dad.’"

Then, at the 2012 championship, Inbee overcame her slump after four years and won. Inbee stated, "I was too immature. It was so hard, and since it was difficult at the moment, I often blamed my parents and considered quitting all the time. Looking back now, I'm so sorry. They worked so hard for me."

Then her mother revealed that Inbee had said she would quit golf during her slump and start a video rental business. In response, Inbee said, "That was the joy of my life in America. The only thing I enjoyed watching was 'Winter Sonata.' It was the only joy. I wanted to watch videos while not playing golf. I wondered why I had to live this way, going around like this."
