Judge Jeong Hyun-sook brought up a case of infidelity.
On the 21st, on the tvN show 'You Quiz on the Block,' Judge Jeong Hyun-sook, who serves as the "divorce officiant" for divorced couples, shared stories of infidelity cases.
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook explained about the divorce officiant, saying, "It is a slang used among family court judges" and added, "The procedure of asking couples who have agreed to divorce if their agreement is indeed correct is referred to as the divorce officiant."
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook said, "I do not refer to them as plaintiff and defendant but call them by their names. I tell them that from this point, their relationship as husband and wife has ended."
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook noted, "Recently, there have been cases where couples come with their parents. The husband and wife remain silent while their parents fight with each other." She added, "There are times when I ask the parents not to come."
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook drew attention by saying, "Sometimes it breaks my heart to realize that some couples are getting divorced because of their parents." She spoke about the divorce trends among young couples, mentioning, "Recently, the number of couples who do not register their marriages has increased significantly. The number of de facto marital cases has also risen considerably."
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook surprised the audience by stating that she handles 50 divorce lawsuits and 150 mutual divorces a day.
Meanwhile, on that day, Judge Jeong Hyun-sook discussed cases of infidelity. She mentioned that a father-in-law witnessed his daughter-in-law and a younger son committing infidelity.
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook remarked, "The father-in-law told them to sort it out quickly and left after closing the door. It turns out that the daughter-in-law also had a relationship with the father-in-law." She explained that eventually, the husband found out about the affair between his wife and his brother, and the wife left the house.
