The son of Oh Gwang-rok mentioned his father's absence during his childhood.

On the afternoon of the 20th, Oh Gwang-rok met with his son Oh Si-won to have a meal together on TV Chosun's 'Dad and Me.'

The son said, "I didn't answer my dad's calls, and then I didn't answer my grandmother's either. I didn't get to see her before she left this world," showing his distress toward his recently deceased grandmother. He added, "I have a lot of regrets. It's frustrating. I couldn't believe it. I thought I needed to change, so I was going to visit her, but it was too late," he conveyed through an interview.

The son asked Oh Gwang-rok, "You didn't answer grandmother's calls, but if it were another family, what would have happened? What were you thinking? Were you not thinking anything? Did you have no thoughts?" Oh Gwang-rok replied, "It's not something I can control whether you answer the calls or not."

The son expressed, "Didn’t you think about those things? It seems like I must be really angry at him," showing his honest feelings. He revealed that the reason he didn't contact his grandmother was due to anger toward his father.

The son sincerely stated, "Since I didn't have memories or bonds with my dad when I was little, I've always thought I want to be a present father to my child. I don't want to live like 'my dad did.'" He referred to the father who neglected him as a child.
