Actor Lee Jong-suk and IU were engulfed in breakup rumors, but the two remained "each other's person."

On the 20th, according to OSEN, actor Lee Jong-suk and singer-actor IU are still maintaining their romantic relationship unchanged. Recently, breakup rumors spread primarily through online communities, but sources close to the couple told OSEN, "They are still seeing each other well," dismissing the rumors.

IU and Lee Jong-suk began dating in December 2022, after a long friendship. Since acknowledging their relationship, they have chosen quiet support over public displays of affection. They have silently supported each other's activities and have been recognized as a model case of "calm public dating" among fans.

In particular, during a promotional interview for the Netflix entertainment show "When Life Gives You Tangerines," IU caught attention with her witty response to a question about Lee Jong-suk. She said, "He is very busy. So I probably haven't seen him," jokingly adding, "Since today is the last day of promotion for 'When Life Gives You Tangerines', I don't know anything else. I only know Yang Kwan-sik (laughs)."

She also left the impression that "tomorrow might be okay", leaving a lingering thought. Though it was a brief mention, it was enough to convey that their relationship is still joyful and strong.

Just as affection was naturally mentioned during the interview, the two also collaborated as positive influences. In April, IU and Lee Jong-suk each donated 200 million won and 100 million won, respectively, to help with the recovery from the wildfire damage in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk, sharing a warm heart with quiet actions.

Nevertheless, recently, some social media and community platforms have brought up breakup rumors again. This started after IU was seen celebrating her birthday with BTS's V and her close friend Kang Han-na on the 16th. Particularly, eyewitness accounts of IU and V being together in a high-end restaurant in Yongsan, Seoul, fueled suspicion.

However, it is reported that the gathering was a meeting with acquaintances, where a total of four people, including singer Lim Seul-ong and a female friend, were present. Although it was a private gathering, excessive speculation was layered on top.

Amid busy schedules, the two continue to support each other unchanged. The breakup rumors were merely rumors.

Meanwhile, Lee Jong-suk is preparing for long overseas filming of his next project, "Remarried Empress," following his new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama "Seocho-dong", which is scheduled to air in July, and IU is also busy managing her schedule ahead of the release of her third remake album, "Flower Bookmark 3" on the 27th.
