The hip grandmother, Millanonna, who has captivated the MZ generation in South Korea, will appear on 'The Millionaire Next Door.'
On Wednesday, the 21st at 9:55 p.m., EBS and E Channel will jointly produce 'Seo Jang-hoon's The Millionaire Next Door' (hereafter 'The Millionaire Next Door'), featuring an episode titled 'The Hip Grandmother Who Became a Real Millionaire' with fashion industry legend Millanonna (Jang Myeong-sook).
Millanonna, a fashion designer and consultant, thrived in the 1980s and 1990s and is now experiencing a second prime as a 'YouTube superstar in her 70s' with 1 million subscribers. The show will provide an opportunity to explore the meaning of what it truly means to be a 'real millionaire' through her life.
As the first 'Milan design student' in South Korea, Millanonna studied at the world-renowned fashion school, Istituto Marangoni, and reveals the surprise fact that she was in the same class as Italy's top designer Domenico Dolce. However, she adds with a smile, "(Dolce) wasn't very talkative, so we weren't close." After her studies abroad, Millanonna dominated the Korean fashion scene through university lectures, stage costume consultations for the National Theater and the National Gugak Center, and as a consultant for large fashion companies.
In the meantime, Millanonna will reveal the salary amount she received 30 years ago when she was at the top of her game on 'The Millionaire Next Door.' This amount is several times greater than the salary of 'national hitter' Lee Seung-yuop, leaving Seo Jang-hoon and Jonathan in shock. Millanonna shyly boasts about her 'cutting-edge salary class,' stating, "This is the first time I'm mentioning it." Her story will be featured on Wednesday, the 21st at 9:55 p.m. on EBS and E Channel's 'Seo Jang-hoon's The Millionaire Next Door.'
