Actor Jung Jun-won expressed his gratitude to his 'Unsung' love line partner Go Youn-jung.
Jung Jun-won recently expressed his appreciation for his fellow actors during an interview after the conclusion of 'Unsung' held at a cafe in Gangnam, Seoul, saying, "From the time I was cast until just before filming, we all went on a team-building trip to get to know each other in a semi-forced way. Everyone was kind and easy to get along with, so we quickly became friendly. Since I am older, I could have been an uncomfortable person, but I tried to eliminate that. I thought it would be better to be an easy-going person. We spent time together comfortably and naturally became close."
Jung Jun-won played the role of 4th-year resident Koodo-won in the recently concluded tvN Saturday-Sunday drama 'Hospital Playlist' (hereafter 'Unsung') and received immense popularity. He captivated audiences with a romantic subplot involving Go Youn-jung's character Oi-young, a first-year resident, and showcased his charismatic seniority while looking after fellow first-year residents Pyo Nam-kyung (Shin Si A), Kim Sa-bi (Han Ye-ji), and Um Jae-il (Kang Yu-seok), dominating household ratings.
He described Go Youn-jung's beauty as divine, saying, "It was so enjoyable to act with her. She is a very ambitious friend when it comes to acting, and there were many surprising moments during our scenes together. I think I received this much attention thanks to my co-actor Go Youn-jung. Koodo-won’s performance was made possible by Oi-young's reactions. Even though she is my junior, I learned so much from her. She is an amazing actress. I heard a lot of praise on set too."
The scene Jung Jun-won cherishes the most is in episode 6. After Oi-young gets angry at Myung Eun-won (Kim Hye-in) for stealing credit for a paper from Koodo-won, they share a beer at a playground. Koodo-won asked, "I guess you don't like me anymore, huh? Do you curse in front of someone you like?" Oi-young, still expressing her feelings, boldly confessed again, asking, "Is it okay if I like you?" which made Koodo-won smile.
Jung Jun-won said, "I liked that it was the point where Koodo-won's heart opened. Moreover, on the day of filming, the weather was incredibly nice. The temperature, humidity, and sunshine were perfect, and I felt that it was reflected in the scene. That playground scene itself is really beautiful. Since the filming was a year ago, seeing it on air made me reminisce and feel good," he said with a big smile.
Jung Jun-won has made his presence known through various works, including 'Drug War', 'Dongju', 'Park Yeol', 'The Table', and 'Little Forest', as well as dramas like 'VIP', 'HUSH', and 'My Name is K'. The character Koodo-won is fresh enough to make audiences forget his previous roles. In this project, the character Koodo-won, who portrayed a romantic relationship in the hospital with Go Youn-jung's character Oi-young, finally made his name well-known to the public.
