The relationship of the Lee Jong-suk and IU couple remains strong.
As of the 20th, according to OSEN's coverage, singer and actress IU and actor Lee Jong-suk have been confirmed to still be in a romantic relationship.
Sources close to the two also told OSEN, "They are still meeting well," dismissing recent breakup rumors.
Previously, Lee Jong-suk and IU officially acknowledged their romance in December 2022 and have consistently nurtured their love for three years. They have been engaging in what has been described as a "quiet public relationship," having indirectly mentioned each other in official settings or been spotted at IU's concerts.
Last month, during an interview for "When Life Gives You Tangerines," IU commented on her boyfriend Lee Jong-suk's reaction, saying, "For now, he is really busy. So he probably hasn't seen it. I think that's the case. I know he is really busy," and added, "'When Life Gives You Tangerines' has its final promotional activities today, so I don't know anything else. I only know about Yang Gwan-sik. (laughs) Tomorrow, it might be okay to talk about my boyfriend."
However, recently, breakup rumors surrounding the two have resurfaced, largely fueled by some online communities and social media. This was because, despite celebrating her birthday on May 16, IU was spotted with BTS member V and her close friend Kang Han-na, rather than with her boyfriend Lee Jong-suk.
In particular, reports emerged of IU and V being together at a high-end restaurant in Yongsan District, raising further speculation among fans. The restaurant is said to be 'Mosu Seoul,' run by chef Anh Sung-jae, who gained recognition through the Netflix show "Culinary Class Wars."
However, according to witnesses, the gathering was not just the two of them but a casual meeting with acquaintances. Subsequently, it was revealed through another report that singer Lim Seul-ong was also present, and the dinner consisted of four people, including IU, V, Lim Seul-ong, and a female friend who has a past connection with IU.
Additionally, Lee Jong-suk is set to start long overseas shoots for his upcoming project "Reborn Queen," meaning the two will be what is commonly known as a "long-distance couple." While some fans have expressed concerns about their relationship, sources have confirmed once again that their affection for each other remains strong.
IU is scheduled to release her third remake album "Flower Bookmark 3" on the 27th, and Lee Jong-suk is currently preparing for filming of the new tvN drama "Seocho-dong," set to air in July.
