Lee Bong-ryeon mentioned her chemistry with actress Go Youn-jung.

On the 20th, an interview with actress Lee Bong-ryeon regarding the conclusion of tvN ‘Resident Playbook’ was held at a café in Gangnam, Seoul.

The tvN weekend drama ‘Resident Playbook’ (created by Shin Won-ho, co-written by Lee Woo-jung, directed by Lee Min-soo, scripted by Kim Song-hee, planned by CJ ENM Studios, produced by Egg is Coming) concluded with high ratings and video views, earning hot popularity. Lee Bong-ryeon received praise for her impressive performance, showcasing a high level of synchronization with Seo Jeong-min.

Lee Bong-ryeon transformed into Professor Seo Jeong-min of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Jongno Yulje Hospital, embodying a role model that residents would aspire to emulate and a figure they would not want to encounter.

On this day, Lee Bong-ryeon shared her feelings about parts she wished had been different after the conclusion, stating, “While performing scenes with Oh Yi-young (played by Go Youn-jung), I wondered if I could be a bit kinder. However, looking back now, kindness doesn’t necessarily mean being warm. Within this story, what kind of kindness can Seo Jeong-min offer? I’m now thinking, ‘Ah, that was the kindness of Seo Jeong-min.’”

She also revealed her chemistry with Go Youn-jung, stating, “I think that Seo, as a professor, recognized the qualities and cleverness that Oh Yi-young possesses early on. There’s no way someone who doesn’t want to be here would be in this space. Considering they are here, their will is certainly present. The reason Oh Yi-young particularly stood out to me is that she reminds me of my own childhood, and I feel I see myself in her. So, I think I developed a special affection for her.”

In particular, she recalled, “Youn-jung herself feels like Oh Yi-young, and even when I met her as an actress, she was like Oh Yi-young. So instead of quickly becoming friends, it felt like we were able to gradually blend into each other.”

She continued, “Youn-jung is so good that she didn’t even have NGs. There are many times I remember apologizing while filming. In reality, I met almost all the actors who appeared as juniors for the first time. However, for me, if I become friends, the chemistry improves, and for professors, meeting slowly as actors was quite helpful. We got closer little by little, and I found joy and fun in witnessing that process with my juniors.”

She added, “When I see the juniors doing well on set, I wonder, did I act like this at their age? I feel like I couldn’t reach that level. They are truly talented. Although they are juniors, there are many younger nurse colleagues who remain calm. They are really well-prepared. I think there were many things to learn from them.”
