Han Sang-jin's fourth directorial work, "Dear My Friend" (produced by Studio Meta K, representative Kim Kwang-jip), has been recognized for both its artistic quality and message at film festivals around the world, including in Paris, New York, Florence, and Hollywood, winning the Gold Award in the institutional sector of the Hollywood Gold Awards, the Silver Award in the Short Film institutional sector of the Paris Film Awards, the Silver Award in the Short Film institutional sector of the New York Movie Awards, and the Best Drama award at the Florence Film Awards.
"Dear My Friend" is an emotional drama that conveys the message that for some, small matters can weigh heavily on life and death, through the friendship between a Vietnamese mixed-race girl named Boba and a Korean girl named Su-yeon, posing a philosophical question about "What is goodness?" The film resonates with audiences using the tagline "The children who wanted to preserve goodness, until that goodness eventually becomes a heart."
Han Sang-jin remarked in his acceptance speech, "I wanted to protect the hearts of children that can easily be forgotten in reality. I am grateful that this sincerity has resonated overseas."
Han Sang-jin is currently active as the MC of the Wave original variety show "HyungSuda - The Chatter of Detectives," expanding his filmography not only as an actor but also as a director.
The film "Dear My Friend" was produced by the AI content production corporation Studio Meta K, which is organized through the '2024 Creative Talent Companion Program' hosted by Seoul Arts University and the Korea Content Agency, with a runtime of 38 minutes and 9 seconds.
