Actor Ahn Jae-wook confessed that he once collapsed in the United States due to a cerebral hemorrhage.

On the afternoon of 19th, Ahn Jae-wook appeared as a guest on KBS 2TV's 'Let's Live Together with Park Won-sook.'

On that day, Ahn Jae-wook attracted attention by revealing an episode where he collapsed in the U.S. due to a cerebral hemorrhage and underwent surgery.

He stated, "The drama was extended, so I ended up going on the trip later than originally planned. I had planned to go to the wedding of a close older brother in the U.S., but I couldn’t go because of the drama extension. After the drama ended, I was doing a musical, and during a two-week gap, I hurriedly went to the U.S."

He said that he started the trip with the older brother and his spouse, recalling, "From the first day, I thought my stomach was upset. I felt so anxious that I said I would go to the room to rest first, but I eventually collapsed in the room. I couldn't breathe while vomiting. As if it were a scene from a drama, my hand automatically went to the back of my neck. It felt like my neck cracked, and I heard a sound like cardboard tearing."

He continued, "My brother came to the room and called an ambulance. I went to the hospital and had surgery. Fortunately, it went well," he said, adding, "When I first regained consciousness, I didn't want to open my eyes. I wished it wasn’t real. Instead of feeling happy for surviving, I also resented heaven. I asked myself, 'Why me?' and that thought plagued me the most. I often wondered what I did wrong in my life. It was the most special trip of my life."

Fortunately, the surgery went well, but the hospital bills were enormous. Ahn Jae-wook said, "When I was discharged, the hospital bill was said to be $500,000, and I almost collapsed again. At that time, it was 500 million won. In our country, you have to pay the hospital fees first to receive surgery, but there they stabilize you first, and you submit reasons to lower the hospital costs later. It took more than two years to pay off the hospital bill. I received help from a lawyer specializing in medical issues after returning to Korea, negotiating and exchanging communications. Eventually, it was reduced to less than half."
