BTS Jin's mini album 'Echo' is receiving praise from major overseas media outlets. Evaluations suggest that Jin's musicality and presence as a solo artist have become even more pronounced.
The British music magazine NME remarked, "If Jin were not a member of BTS, he might have acted as the main vocalist of the band, layering emotional vocals over guitar riffs and intense drum beats." It continued, "The band sound-based 'Echo' further solidifies Jin's standing as a vocalist; he is not limited to the rock genre and continues to expand his spectrum, engaging in musical exploration."
NME explained, "'Echo' is a fitting word for Jin's second album. While it does not completely show a different world from the previous work 'Happy', it gives off a feeling similar to an echo that bounces back when hitting a wall, creating a familiar yet new sound." The outlet projected, "In this album, Jin focuses on refining and crafting music that suits him best. He will continue to grow and shine in the direction that fits him the most."
The American music magazine Rolling Stone began by stating, "Jin was a unique presence with his own style and romance even within BTS. 'Echo' represents an expanded world of romance for Jin." Rolling Stone praised, "With this album, Jin elevates his own style and exudes dazzling charm. He sings with an ease and confidence as if he has never left the stage."
The American daily newspaper USA Today also highlighted Jin's profound musical colors as a solo artist. USA Today analyzed, "Through 'Echo', Jin concentrates on his artistry, enhancing the depth of emotion and presence on stage. His affection for the rock genre is clearly illustrated in this album."
Billboard in the U.S. introduced, "'Echo' consists of seven tracks that capture Jin's matured vocals and emotions," adding, "This album, based on dynamic band sounds, showcases Jin's versatile vocals." Additionally, American V magazine interpreted, "Jin infuses 'Echo' with the authenticity of life's experiences and emotions," praising, "It demonstrates Jin's growth in musicality and artistry."
Meanwhile, Jin will grant a performance of the title track 'Don't Say You Love Me' on the popular American NBC program 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' on the 22nd (Korean time).
