Kim Hyun-sook recalled her wedding days.
On the MBN show 'Sokpurisyo Dongchimi' that aired on the 17th, they discussed the topic 'Am I a mother-in-law or a daughter-in-law', during which Kim Hyun-sook shared her own story.
She noted, "I earn well, and when I go to my in-laws, I would say 'I was so tired filming yesterday' and if they set the table for me while I take a nap, I would join them afterwards with some accompaniment," hesitating, asking, "Will I get criticized for this?" and causing laughter.
Continuing, Kim Hyun-sook stated, "I also earn money. I live almost like the head of the household. Since I also contribute to the living expenses there, I feel more like I acted honestly rather than proudly. I also have the thought, 'Is it worth going?'. Even if I filmed until early morning yesterday, I will go. I thought it would be better to go since I like family gatherings."
She further reminisced, "I didn’t know it would turn out this way. At that time, I thought we would be together for life and acted comfortably. Who can predict what will happen a moment ahead? I thought we would walk this path forever, and if I make things uncomfortable, I feel like I would not want to see them again. Thankfully, my mother is diligent and makes food, and she seems to like it when I eat well."
Additionally, she emphasized, "To be honest, I did all the economic activities, and I prepared all the meals at home. Not once did my ex-husband prepare a meal for me after I got home from work," adding, "I never fed my child with commercial baby food, and I did all the cooking myself. When my in-laws came over, I would prepare a 12-course meal and serve them all."
Meanwhile, Kim Hyun-sook married a non-celebrity of the same age in 2014 but announced their separation in December 2020. She currently has custody of their son.
