Brown Eyed Soul's Youngjun reinterprets Solid's 90s R&B classic.
At 6 p.m. on the 18th, Solid's representative song 'You're my first and last' will be released in Youngjun's voice across all online music platforms. This remake is the second song in the remake brand 'Highcolor' Vol.2, following the release of Thama's 'Even so' in April.
This project drew anticipation especially because the original songwriter, Solid's Jung Jae-yoon, participated directly as an arranger, preserving the emotions of the original while reworking it with a modern sound.
Youngjun noted, "This was a song I really liked during my school days" and expressed, "It was a joyful and overwhelming experience to sing this song again as a fan." He added, "I wanted to contain my unique emotions in a simple vocal, capturing an afterglow that is different from Senior Kim Jo-han's."
Regarding the arranger Jung Jae-yoon, he mentioned, "It's a version that adds a sophisticated sense while not damaging the beauty of the original," adding, "It's a song where the emotions of two eras naturally blend together." He also expressed, "I hope it reaches someone as something new and to someone else as a feeling of nostalgia," urging, "I hope everyone enjoys this song in their own way."
'Highcolor' stated, "The core of this project is to restore the 'certainty' and 'forward emotions' of 90s love songs with today's sensibility," explaining, "We aim to bring back the language of emotions that have been forgotten through this remake."
The Highcolor Vol.2 remake track featuring Youngjun from Brown Eyed Soul, 'You're my first and last (original: Solid),' will be released at 6 p.m. on the 18th.
