Actor Cha Seung-won's good deeds have come to light belatedly.
On the 18th, the YouTube channel "TMON and Poomba X Pocket Mong GO" released a video titled "Is this combination of Pocket Mong GO Cha Seung-won and Lee Gang-tae real?"
The video features Cha Seung-won volunteering at an animal shelter run by YouTuber couple Lee Gang-tae and Taera. The couple was surprised to see Cha Seung-won for the first time, saying, "He is so tall," and "His presence is amazing," and Cha Seung-won immediately began interacting with the animals and volunteering sincerely upon arriving at the shelter.
He noted, "Play with them as if they are your own dogs, clean them, and please feed them," and quickly took action, unable to hide his amazement at the reality faced by numerous abandoned dogs. "They say people raise dogs with love and dogs with money. What happens if they get sick?" he expressed with a heavy heart.
The shelter explained, "We are receiving treatment with the funds sent by our sponsors," noting that just the basic health check for one abandoned dog costs between 700,000 and 800,000 won, and surgeries require between 2 million and 3 million won.
Afterward, Cha Seung-won personally cared for dogs harmed by wildfires, abandoned dogs rescued from dog meat farms, and abused street cats, even carefully disinfecting an injured cat. He also prepared nourishing food for the animals, conveying his warm heart.
What touched everyone the most was at the end. Cha Seung-won donated 1 ton of dog food to the shelter, adding, "It's unfortunate circumstances, but I'm glad the representatives are taking good care of them. I hope parents who can look after them with love will appear."
