Gojiyong, a former member of the group Sechs Kies, recently shared his experience working in the food service industry and his challenges in a broadcast.
Gojiyong appeared on KBS2's 'The Men Who Cook' that aired on the 17th.
Once adored as a 'flower boy idol,' Gojiyong made a long-awaited return to the screen, sharing his current life and honest thoughts.
After the disbandment of Sechs Kies, Gojiyong returned to civilian life and has been trying various business ventures until recently, but there were rumors in some online communities that he was working at a meat restaurant after failing in the real estate business. In response, Gojiyong stated he is currently working at a shabu-shabu specialty restaurant.
He explained the reason he started in the food service industry by saying, "After my health declined and I began to pay attention to my diet, I naturally became interested in the food service industry." Notably, the special broth made from 10 different herbal ingredients revealed in the broadcast reflects his health-centered philosophy and attracted much interest.
However, this process was not without difficulties. Gojiyong confessed that he experienced significant stress while juggling various businesses such as real estate and bidets. He shared his extreme psychological pain by saying, "I struggled so much that I went to see a psychiatrist and took tranquilizers."
Once an idol star, Gojiyong is now a father and a restaurateur who is contemplating health and life balance, living a new life. Viewers who watched the broadcast sent messages of support, saying, "It's realistic and sincere," and, "He's really living a wonderful second act in life."
