The 'Youth Representative' group TWS has been selected as the vocalist for the opening song of a Japanese animation.
Their agency, Pledis Entertainment, announced on the 17th that TWS (Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Young Jae, Hanjin Logistics, Ji Hoon, Kyung Min) will perform the opening theme song 'BLOOM (feat. Ayumu Imazu)' for the TV animation 'Giving a Bouque to an Ugly Person,' which will air starting in July.
'BLOOM (feat. Ayumu Imazu)' is a pop song with R&B emotions, inspired by 'flowers.' It conveys the sentiment of cherishing each individual's personality and charm, encouraging listeners to bloom flowers that reflect their own colors, providing a deep resonance to those who listen. TWS will delicately deliver the song's message with their youthful voices, enhancing the immersion of the piece.
In particular, this song is written and composed by the popular Japanese artist Ayumu Imazu, who also features in the track, collaborating with TWS. TWS noted, "I have worked with Ayumu Imazu in a dance challenge before, and I am very happy to collaborate on music for the first time. I hope many people will listen and love it."
'Giving a Bouque to an Ugly Person' is based on a popular manga that placed 5th in the '2019 Next Generation Manga Awards' in the manga category, and it is set to air on TV in July. It is a school love comedy that depicts the transformation and excitement of a high school student who is quietly struggling with self-esteem issues when they accidentally become involved with the school's most popular boy.
TWS's participation in the animation theme song is expected to create even greater synergy with their Japanese debut activities. TWS will release their debut single 'Nice to See You Again (original title はじめまして/하じめ마시테)' on July 2 and will hold their first Japanese tour '2025 TWS TOUR '24/7:WITH:US' IN JAPAN' in the same month. They plan to make an impression on local fans through various activities, including music, performance, and collaborations via animation.
Meanwhile, TWS's mini album 'TRY WITH US' is also receiving a positive response in Japan. This album has surpassed a cumulative shipment of 100,000 copies in Japan, earning a 'Gold' certification from the Japan Record Association.
