Even son Son Bo-seung didn't know. Comedian Lee Kyung-sil candidly expressed her feelings of being "embarrassed" after the cancellation of the APT. auction.

On the 16th, Lee Kyung-sil stated through her social media that "to get to the point, it was resolved well," and added, "I'm sorry to many who were surprised and worried without even being able to ask," regarding the recently reported auction news of the APT. in Yongsan Ichon-dong.

Earlier, on the 15th, the real estate auction specialist GGAuction announced that Lee Kyung-sil's high-end APT. in Ichon-dong, Yongsan, Seoul, was scheduled to be auctioned on the 27th at the Seoul Western District Court. The APT. is known for its excellent residential status, with a dedicated area of 293㎡ (approximately 89 pyeong) and views of the Han River.

Lee Kyung-sil purchased the APT. in 2007 for 1.4 billion won and was currently residing there. The reason for the auction was presumed to be her inability to repay the money borrowed with the APT. as collateral, and the starting price was set at 2.55 billion won. There was a mortgage guarantee with a maximum claim amount of 1.8 billion won, and this debt had been transferred to a lending company.

In response, Lee Kyung-sil said, "I was surprised and shocked when the article came out while it was being resolved," adding, "Even my family didn't know.. My kids, siblings, and close acquaintances were all surprised and upset, and when I informed them today that it was resolved, some even cried."

She added, "I invested while taking a break from work for several years to find a stable income; it was fine for a few years, but various issues started to arise about three years ago," and noted, "I tried to resolve it in advance as I was worried my kids would find out, but eventually the whole country came to know, and I ended up feeling embarrassed."

He explained the situation by saying, "I found out about it while filming after visiting my mother in Gunsan when I received a call from a close sister," and added, "I had to leave quickly so my mother wouldn't be shocked and had to put on a show." He also expressed gratitude, stating, "As much as I'd like to upload the auction cancellation receipt, I'll try to hold off. I sincerely thank those who were worried about me."

Meanwhile, Lee Kyung-sil is a first-generation female comedian who debuted by winning a gold medal at the MBC TV Comedy Contest in 1987. Recently, she has been appearing on the TV Chosun variety program "Lovers of Joseon" with her son Son Bo-seung, showcasing their daily lives. Son Bo-seung announced his pre-marital pregnancy with a non-celebrity woman in 2021 at the age of 23, and the following year became a father. Although there was a period when their mother-son relationship became distant, they have recently reconciled and shown signs of closeness.
