Paik Jong-won, CEO of Theborn Korea, is preparing to file a defamation lawsuit for false information against the director Kim Jae-hwan of 'Studio Ojaena,' who raised suspicions of 'broadcast abuse.'

According to OSEN's investigation on the 16th, Paik Jong-won and Theborn Korea are preparing to sue the YouTube channel 'Studio Ojaena' (abbreviated as Ojaena) and the team around Kim Jae-hwan for defamation due to false information. This is in response to the so-called 'broadcast abuse' allegations aimed at Paik Jong-won crossing the line.

Director Kim Jae-hwan, a former MBC variety producer turned filmmaker, has received praise for food documentaries such as 'True Taste Show.' He has been continuing intense criticism toward Paik Jong-won and Theborn Korea through the recent YouTube channel 'Ojaena.'

The issue began with various controversies surrounding Theborn Korea, particularly highlighting its emphasis on coexistence with franchisees as a 'headquarters' that operates diverse franchise brands. Related videos have garnered over 1 million views, creating empathy among netizens.

Even after Paik Jong-won's apology and Theborn Korea's improvement plans were disclosed, criticism continued. Among them, Director Kim Jae-hwan strongly raised allegations of 'broadcast abuse' regarding Paik Jong-won's past broadcast activities. In a video released on the morning of the 13th, it was claimed that "Paik Jong-won blocked a professor's appearance using his friendship with the producer on a show he did not even appear on," and "blocked singer Kim Ho-jung's appearance on SBS," drawing attention.

However, in response, Paik Jong-won stated, "When asked by the producer if 'this guest matches well,' I could answer 'not really.' To say that I blocked someone from appearing is something that wouldn't happen even if the broadcasting company president came," vehemently denying the allegations. A broadcaster PD who has partnered with Paik Jong-won for several years also strongly defended him to OSEN, stating, "While the director may actively provide opinions on the program, it is not 'abuse.'"

Above all, Theborn Korea believes that the team from 'Ojaena' and Director Kim Jae-hwan committed illegal recording during the conversation with Paik Jong-won without consent and has concluded to file a defamation lawsuit for spreading false information in this process. Accordingly, an investigation of the involved parties is expected to follow the lawsuit.
