Seohyun and Ok Taecyeon cheerfully break the original romance formula.

The KBS 2TV new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' (directed by Lee Woong-hee and Kang Soo-yeon / written by Jeon Seon-young / planned and produced by Studio N and Monster Union), which is set to premiere on June 11, will reveal the encounter between the tightly knotted supporting character Cha Seon-taek (played by Seohyun) and the male lead Ibeon (played by Ok Taecyeon) through its first teaser video, raising curiosity. 'The First Night With the Duke' is a 'no brake' detour romance fantasy drama, where the soul of an ordinary female college student inhabits the supporting character in a romance novel and finds herself spending a night with the story's strongest obsessive male lead.

The first teaser video captures the moment when a reality college student, K, enters the world of the novel as the character Cha Seon-taek. For a moment, confused, she asks, 'Isn't this a folk village?' But upon realizing she is the supporting character in the romance novel she admired, she cannot hide her excitement. Despite the unfamiliar situation, her expectations outweigh her frustrations, evoking laughter and hinting at the extraordinary character's arrival.

The ease with which she enjoys being a supporting character also catches the eye. Looking through a telescope at something off in the distance, Cha Seon-taek instantly recognizes the male lead Ibeon and exclaims in admiration that he is much more handsome than expected. She then repeats to herself, 'Let's not wake up even if this is a dream,' showcasing her genuine love for the original work and adding to her comedic charm.

However, this peace is shattered at once with the arrival of Ibeon. After sharing a kiss and spending a night with Cha Seon-taek, Ibeon delivers a shocking remark, saying, 'You schemed to entice the royal family and steal their purity. This is treason,' showcasing the tyrannical nature of the male lead from the original work. What Cha Seon-taek hoped would be a romance turns out to be a struggle for survival.

As the male lead constantly holds her accountable, Cha Seon-taek desperately tries to evade the situation by hiding or pretending to be inadequate. Ultimately, she reaches her limit, exclaiming, 'To be or not to be, that is the question!' Faced not with first love or a love triangle but with the challenge of survival, Cha Seon-taek's struggles create a delightful twist and draw attention.

'The First Night With the Duke' unfolds a whimsical and unpredictable development between the supporting character, who inhabits the novel, and the original male lead Ibeon, raising excitement. There is anticipation about how their relationship will evolve and what impact the detoured narrative, breaking the romance formula, will have.

'The First Night With the Duke,' which twists the established narrative of the novel without restraint, promises unique enjoyment and will premiere at 9:50 p.m. on June 11 on KBS 2TV.
