YouTuber Aori (real name Kim Min-young) won a defamation lawsuit against a dermatology clinic that she revealed left her covered in bruises after a procedure.
On the 16th, a media outlet reported, citing legal sources, that a claim for 1.3 billion won in damages against Aori by a dermatology hospital in Gangnam, Seoul, for allegedly spreading false information was dismissed.
Aori shocked the public by revealing a full-body photo covered in dark bruises in 2021. She stated, "I received a health injection at the hospital, and this is what happened." She claimed that the symptoms appeared after receiving an injection promoted by the dermatology clinic as a 'health injection' and that she did not receive proper compensation for the damage.
Subsequently, the hospital strongly rebutted Aori's claims, alleging that she spread a total of 11 falsehoods, and hired a major law firm to claim damages for defamation caused by these falsehoods. However, the court dismissed the claims in both the first and second trials, siding with Aori.
However, in the case of Aori's ex-husband, Seo Ju-won, a damage compensation of 2 million won was confirmed. During the exposure process, Seo Ju-won had posted messages criticizing the hospital on social media, and his liability for compensation was recognized.
Aori, a YouTuber originally from an online shopping mall model, has recently transformed into a businesswoman by operating her own shopping mall. She was married to Seo Ju-won, an F1 racer and businessman who appeared in Channel A's entertainment program "Heart Signal" Season 1, but they divorced. Recently, Aori has been engaging in personal activities through her personal YouTube channel and social media as a creator affiliated with Sandbox Network.
