Kim Nam-joo will meet viewers through SBS Life's new variety show "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo" on the evening of the 22nd at 8:40 p.m. Prior to that, at 11:45 a.m. on the same day, content of the same name will be first revealed on Kim Nam-joo's YouTube channel.
"The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo" is her first solo variety content after 31 years since her debut. It shows Kim Nam-joo communicating with the public and sharing everything about herself while expanding her insight. It seems that her hidden sides can be confirmed through the footage that has not been revealed until now.
Kim Nam-joo said, "After 31 years of debut, one might become a bit dulled, but still challenging new works feels both exciting and somewhat scary. I've been losing sleep lately." She added, "I am someone who cannot act outside the drama filming site. When I try to express myself, my mind goes blank, and I can't speak properly. I will come to you with my honest self, a version that you might like."
"The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo" will be broadcast weekly every Thursday at 8:40 p.m. starting with its first broadcast on the 22nd on SBS Life.

1. Please share your thoughts on being part of "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo."
After 31 years of debut, it feels overwhelming to challenge new works. Moreover, this is my first time in a variety program and on YouTube, so I've been losing sleep these days.
2. "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo" is your first solo variety. Is there a reason you are taking on YouTube and variety challenges?
I wonder how to explain the pressure felt from being a first-time solo appearance in a variety program after 31 years. I had received offers to appear on various programs in the past, but I denied every time with one reason: "I have nothing to say." But now that I am doing a YouTube channel and variety program under my name, I think those producers and writers of the programs I rejected might feel quite disappointed. I have always naturally gained information, comforted myself, and laughed a lot through YouTube. The main reason I decided to take on this challenge was that many ways to communicate with fans have disappeared without social media. I am not an actress who does a lot of works, nor someone who has done variety, so having meetings with those who remembered and liked Kim Nam-joo is very rare. After finishing a few recordings, the reason for my challenge in this area has become clearer. I realize I am someone who enjoys communicating with others through my stories.
3. If you were to introduce "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo," what would you say?
While it's titled "The Queen of Insight" for the TV program, the main title on YouTube is simply "Kim Nam-joo." We discussed various titles that could better explain the intent of showing just me, Kim Nam-joo, but I wonder if there is a title that can do so better than "Kim Nam-joo." Perhaps because of the influence from the drama "Misty," many people think of me as someone who "doesn't bleed even if pricked" or "only drinks wine with pasta." The character Cheon Ji-ae from the drama "The Lady in Dying" might be closer to the real Kim Nam-joo. Through this program, I will show that Kim Nam-joo enjoys not just pasta but also tteokbokki.
4. You've already completed the first filming for "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo." What was your first impression?
The first filming involved revealing my home. I hesitated thinking a normal person's home isn't anything special, but this house, where I've spent the 20 years raising my children, has very special meaning to me. I thought it was right to show you the most precious and special space first. After the first filming, I found it enjoyable. In dramas, I act as someone else, but on YouTube, I am showing the real "Kim Nam-joo." Although I felt a bit shy at first, I now enjoy it.
5. What kind of image do you intend to show through "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo?"
I am someone who cannot act outside the drama filming site. When I try to express myself, my mind goes blank, and I can't speak properly. I will come to you with my honest self, a version that you might like.
6. "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo" can also be found on YouTube. In communicating directly with the public through the Kim Nam-joo channel, what will be your focus?
A writer friend with whom I have a long-standing relationship is working on this program with me. When she first suggested that I should do YouTube, I initially refused, saying, "I live a really boring life and have nothing to show." But she knows me well after watching me for a long time. She said, "Everything you are showing me now, the restaurants you often go to, what you care about while shopping, and everything you do for your kids can resonate with people." I wondered, "Is that really so?" But our staff seemed to find it interesting and fascinating. Since they are the first audience, I think there is some truth in that.
7. If you could invite a guest to "The Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo," who would it be?
I would like to invite "La La," a channel I enjoyed watching last winter. As an actress, I want to praise her for the meticulous expression of her fingertip and toe acting. I would also like to share the feelings of a working mother who has to work while the baby is still young. If she has parenting worries, I might be able to give advice as a senior mom.

Even though I've acted for 30 years, I am a newcomer Kim Nam-joo in YouTube and variety. I hope you will look at me positively and leave encouraging comments.
