Singer and actress IU celebrated her birthday on May 16 by once again conveying a warm heart.
The agency EDAM Entertainment announced on the 16th that "IU donated a total of 200 million won, contributing 50 million won each to four organizations under the name 'IUAena' (IU + UAena)." This donation will be used to support low-income families, the elderly living alone, youth preparing for independence, single-parent families, and individuals with disabilities.
The donations were delivered to 'Hope Pebble,' 'Child Rights Protection Agency,' 'Happy Giver,' and 'Warm Together,' and they will be widely used for various vulnerable groups, including ▲support for the livelihoods of low-income families and the elderly living alone, ▲covering settlement expenses for youth preparing for independence, ▲support for the livelihoods, treatment, and education expenses of single-parent families, and ▲providing space welfare and advanced assistive devices for individuals with disabilities.
IU has consistently donated under the name 'IUAena' on meaningful days each year, such as her debut anniversary, her birthday, and year-end holidays, spreading positive influence. Last March, she donated 200 million won to support victims of large wildfires in the Gyeongsang region and to improve the treatment of firefighters, and on Children's Day, she practiced warm sharing by donating 150 million won for children and adolescents.
Meanwhile, IU is set to release her remake album 'Flower Bookmark Three' on the 27th, her first in eight years, and is preparing for the filming of her upcoming drama '21st Century Grand Duke's Wife.'
