Actor Hwang Jung-eum, embroiled in controversy over embezzlement allegations, is expected to be edited out of the final episode of 'Solo, So.' However, the production team for 'Solo, So' stated, "Our stance remains that discussions are still ongoing."
On the 16th, reports emerged that the production team for the SBS Plus and E Channel entertainment program 'Solo, So' is considering ways to minimize Hwang Jung-eum's appearance, and the team cautiously noted to OSEN, "Internal discussions are still ongoing. Our stance remains the same as previously stated."
Earlier, Hwang Jung-eum was indicted without detention on charges of embezzling approximately 4.34 billion won of company funds by receiving 700 million won of loan funds from her agency under the guise of an advance for personal use and investing it in cryptocurrencies until December 2022.
The victim agency is identified as a family corporation in which Hwang Jung-eum owns 100% equity, and it was revealed that Hwang Jung-eum invested about 4.2 billion won of the embezzled amount in cryptocurrencies. In this regard, Hwang Jung-eum's side acknowledged the facts of the indictment and requested a continuation to repay the victim amount, and the court accepted this.
On the 15th, Hwang Jung-eum stated through her agency, "At the time, I was eager to grow the company, and around 2021, I received offers from people around me to grow the company funds through coin investments, leading me to jump into coin investing, which I was not familiar with. Although it was company funds, since the revenue was earned through my activities, I think I made a poor judgment."
She continued, "In an effort to correct the improper transaction relationships, I am currently with a different agency and am working to cleanly resolve the transaction relationships with the previous company. I have repaid a substantial portion of the funds I withdrew from the company in the form of advances by disposing of personal assets, and I am in the process of resolving some outstanding amounts," and she bowed her head, saying, "Once again, I apologize and will fulfill my necessary responsibilities."
