"I hope you feel the overwhelming emotions while listening to 'Echo.'"

BTS's Jin's mini-album 'Echo' will be released worldwide simultaneously today (16th) at 1 p.m. The album explores various moments in life unfolding in different forms with the keyword "resonance."

If his previous work 'Happy' focused on bringing happiness to people, 'Echo' conveys more sincere and deep empathy. From you and me to us, love and friendship, and the crossroads of choices encountered in everyday life. Jin expresses common emotions and situations that anyone might experience and everyday life through seven songs, viewed from his unique perspective.

The title track is 'Don't Say You Love Me.' It's a song about the irony of not being able to easily let each other go despite the relationship with a lover crumbling. While it deals with the duality of feelings about love, the melody and Jin's vocals are simple and delicate. This contrast enhances the song's resonance.

At 5 p.m. that day, Jin plans to interact with fans through a 'Jin 'Echo' Comeback Live: PLAY TIME' on the global superfan platform Weverse. Prior to that, he shared a Q&A through his agency Big Hit Music.

Q. How do you feel about returning with the mini-album 'Echo' after 6 months?

I've shown my face a lot on entertainment programs recently, but as a singer, I wanted to showcase my songs and performances. I didn't have a complete desire to rest, but that's why I worked hard. (laughs) I'm happy to be able to show 'Singing Jin' with the mini-album 'Echo.'

Q. Reason for the album's composition and the choice of title track 'Don't Say You Love Me.'

I composed the album with songs suitable for performing without limiting genres. I wanted to make it fun so that listeners could enjoy it. However, I hoped that the title track would be the most comfortable to listen to. 'Don't Say You Love Me' is slower compared to the other tracks, but I was sure it would be the most easy to listen to.

Q. Is there any behind-the-scenes story about writing the lyrics for the included tracks?

I tend to write lyrics while maintaining the feelings that come to mind when hearing the song. While working on 'A Journey with Clouds,' I watched a lot of animations. When I worked on 'Nothing Without Your Love,' I pictured myself performing on stage. Maybe because of that, I often got choked up while working on 'Nothing Without Your Love.' I became so emotional that I couldn't sing for a while.

Q. How was your interaction with actor Shin Se-kyung in the music video for 'Don't Say You Love Me'?

It was my first time acting with an actor, so it felt very awkward and clumsy. As my tension rose, things didn't go as imagined. Nevertheless, I was really grateful to Shin Se-kyung for her wonderful performance. If you look closely, you might find me being awkward. (laughs)

Q. Memories from the music video filming.

On the day we filmed the parking lot scene, it was really windy. My hair was blowing so much that I couldn't act. In the end, contrary to the initial plan, I changed my hairstyle and continued filming. I was somewhat satisfied because I feel I could show a fresh image.

Q. A moment recently where you felt 'resonance.'

On April 4th, I attended the Coldplay concert in South Korea as a guest, and on that day, the audience's singing along resonated with me greatly. I thought I would like to have such an opportunity as well.

Q. Episode with Coldplay.

When I heard that the guys were performing in Korea, I thought I wanted to collaborate with them again, and thankfully, our thoughts were aligned. They truly are my brothers. (laughs) Even during their world tour, they carried the character doll 'Woody' that I gifted them. I felt they must have experienced rain and many hardships, so I gifted them a new Woody.

Q. The reason for being active not only in music but also in entertainment projects.

I want to quickly and frequently show my face to the fans. I wanted to hide my charms, but it all came out through entertainment programs. (laughs)

Q. How do you hope this album will reach listeners?

I love music that makes me feel overwhelmed. I hope many people feel such emotions while listening to my new album, just as I did. Also, it would be great if they could imagine how it would feel in a concert hall while listening.

Q. Lastly, a message to fans around the world, the ARMY.

To our ARMY, I will be coming to you soon, so please wait a little. I love you!
