HYBE Latin America has announced the launch of a new boy idol group in Mexico. This is the second major project following the band survival audition program, drawing attention as it accelerates its efforts to penetrate the Latin music market.

According to HYBE Latin America, filming has recently begun for a reality series that selects members for a next-generation global boy group at a customized camp established in Mexico City. HYBE Latin America aims to select the final members of the boy group through this series.

A teaser video for the project was suddenly released on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel and official social media. The video captured the passionate and talented participants, heightening global music fans' expectations.

Among numerous applicants, 300 were selected in the first round, and 16 of them will join the camp to receive intensive training for about six months. Approximately 30 professional trainers, including vocal coaches, choreographers, producers, and fitness coaches, will assist them.

The mentors joining the project are impressive. Kenny Ortega, a director and choreographer known for directing multiple global hits, including Disney's high-teen franchise 'High School Musical' and 'Descendants,' serves as the executive producer. He has been responsible for choreographing major stages including the Super Bowl, Academy Awards, and Olympic opening ceremonies, as well as directing Michael Jackson's posthumous documentary 'Michael Jackson's This Is It.'

The chief choreographer will be Charm La’Donna. She boasts an impressive resume, having collaborated with Kendrick Lamar for the 2025 Super Bowl stage as well as with Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez, and Beyoncé. Vocal training will be overseen by vocal coach Robert Stevenson, who has worked with Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, and SZA. Colombian veteran creators Jaime Escallón and Lucas Jaramillo will serve as co-format creators and executive producers, leading the overall creativity of the series.

HYBE aims to create an innovative global artist development model by integrating a systematic K-pop training system with the unique cultural and artistic sensibilities of Latin America. The plan is to utilize various channels such as streaming, social media, and music platforms, moving away from traditional TV formats.

HYBE Latin America's CEO, Gajonghyun, noted, "This project is a challenge to imagine anew how to discover and cultivate Latino talents and showcase them to the world. We are building the foundation for the next generation of global Latin artists based on creativity and top-level production capabilities. Our goal is to amplify the Latin voice further and louder."

Meanwhile, HYBE Latin America is collaborating with the U.S. Spanish broadcaster Telemundo to conduct the band audition program 'Pase a la Fama.' This program is a major audition to discover bands from Mexico, set to air for the first time on June 8 (U.S. time).
