Captain Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League has filed a complaint against a woman in her twenties who allegedly deceived him into demanding several hundred million won under the pretense of being pregnant.
According to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul on the afternoon of the 14th, a woman in her twenties, referred to as A, and a man in his forties, referred to as B, have been arrested and are under investigation for extortion.
Earlier, Son Heung-min's representatives claimed that A had alleged she was pregnant with his child in June of last year and demanded valuables worth several hundred million won. Additionally, it is reported that B, a man in his forties suspected of conspiring with A, also attempted to collect tens of millions of won.
A and B approached Son Heung-min's representatives in March this year to attempt to extort money. They are accused of threatening to spread false information on social media to coerce payment.
Currently, police have applied for an arrest warrant for A and B on 'extortion' charges and have obtained the warrant from the court. It is reported that police are investigating the specifics of the crime after apprehending the two.
