Singer HyunA, who boldly chose full-body tattoos, and actress Nana, formerly of After School, both made the choice to “remove tattoos.” And the common background to this decision was “mother’s words.”

HyunA, who is living with singer Yong Jun-hyung, recently appeared on the YouTube channel “Lee Yong-jin Channel” and shared that she has been removing her full-body tattoos for a year now. She confessed, “I had tattoos all over my body. I have been removing them for a year now. It hurts a lot,” adding, “I have had the procedure about four times and I’m taking a break right now.”

She revealed the reason for deciding to remove the tattoos, saying, “My mom said, ‘How about living with a clean body just once? You’ve done everything you wanted to do.’ Those words resonated deeply with me.”

Actress Nana also shares a similar experience. She drew attention by appearing with full-body tattoos at the production presentation of the Netflix original series “Glitch” in 2022. At that time, Nana stated, “I was very troubled when I got the tattoos. It was the only way to express and resolve my emotions.”

However, after appearing on the YouTube show “Cho HyunA’s Thursday Night,” she said, “I am removing my tattoos,” explaining that her mother carefully remarked, “I want to see a clean body again,” which became the reason for her decision to remove the tattoos.

Both individuals who chose tattoos as a means of artistic self-expression. However, ultimately listening to “mother’s words” and enduring the pain as they revert their bodies back is conveying a gentle resonance to the public.

Meanwhile, HyunA shared that her weight has increased recently due to health reasons, saying, “It’s a happy gain. I’m on a diet again these days,” while Nana is gaining attention for her active fashion events and entertainment appearances following her tattoo removal.
