Singer Kim Heung-guk has expressed his thoughts on actively supporting a specific candidate amid his political engagement.

Kim Heung-guk, in a phone call with OSEN on the 15th, related to his support for the People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo alongside fellow entertainers on the 14th, stating, "I have no regrets or worries about my political remarks. I simply said what I needed to as a conservative right-wing entertainer."

He said, "In the last presidential election, many conservative right-wing entertainers publicly expressed their support. But this time, it was different. The atmosphere was different. Everyone is very fearful about things going wrong. Still, I am grateful to fellow actors Choi Jun-yong and Noh Hyun-hee who have endured hardships on the cold asphalt. They are true patriots."

He added, "Friends like Choi Guk and Lee Hyuk-jae have provided support through campaign videos on YouTube. Everyone is tired after President Yoon Seok-youl was dismissed (through impeachment). There is also a thought of 'What if things go wrong?' It's not like there are many people who recognize us. Still, I thought we should help until the election on June 3."

"I feel that the country must not go wrong," said Kim Heung-guk, cautiously adding his thoughts on the nationwide criticism against the ruling party that opposed the former President Yoon Seok-youl’s martial law and impeachment. He explained the reasons for his support for a specific candidate, stating, "Even if they are identified as left-wing rather than right-wing, I believe they should be able to speak freely. Nevertheless, a snap election was held, and as a supporter of the conservative cause, I personally hope that the regime is not taken away from us."

During the People Power Party primary process, Kim Heung-guk participated in the camp of candidate Na Kyung-won, who was a competitor of Kim Moon-soo. Kim Heung-guk commented, "It's not that I supported candidate Kim Moon-soo from the beginning of the primary. However, I believe he has been an active conservative politician for a long time and has a wealth of experience, having gone through various hardships since the labor movement."

He also emphasized, "The unification process with Han Duck-soo was problematic due to 'double rights.' It was an absurd situation. I believe candidate Kim Moon-soo can become a second President Park Chung-hee. Not only me, but all conservative right-wing entertainers have families and children. Nonetheless, we came out with the belief that the Republic of Korea must not go wrong, so please keep an eye on us" while expressing his stance on revealing his political inclinations.

Having gained popularity with his hit song "Tiger Butterfly," Kim Heung-guk has long identified himself as a conservative right-wing entertainer, revealing his political inclinations. Notably, he recently publicly declared his support for People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo, drawing attention. Related to this, critical comments appeared on his personal YouTube channel, stating, "Don't campaign personally." However, Kim Heung-guk rebutted by saying, "Don't you cause trouble" and emphasized his political convictions.
