Actor Bae Seung-woo will appear in the Coupang Play series 'SNL Korea' Season 7.
A representative from Bae Seung-woo's agency, Artist Company, confirmed on the 14th to OSEN that "Bae Seung-woo will appear as a host in 'SNL Korea 7.'"
Bae Seung-woo has been confirmed as the 8th host following singer Rain (Jung Ji-hoon), who is the host for the 7th episode. Recording for Bae Seung-woo's segment is scheduled to take place at the end of May.
Previously, Bae Seung-woo was charged with drunk driving in November 2020 and was sentenced to a fine. He stated through his agency, "I accept all the criticisms and deeply repent and reflect," adding, "I will be careful and cautious in every way to ensure that this does not happen again," while bowing his head.
At the time, Bae Seung-woo was active as the lead character, a struggling reporter Park Sam-soo, in the SBS drama 'Fly, Gangchenyong,' but he had to exit midway through the broadcast due to the revelation of his drunk driving. The agency's representative, Jung Woo-sung, was urgently deployed to play the character Park Sam-soo until the end of the show.
After a period of reflection and self-restraint, Bae Seung-woo made his screen comeback in 2023 with the film '1947 Boston,' and also appeared in the Netflix series 'The Eight Show,' which was released last year. Most notably, he attended the production presentation for 'The Eight Show,' making his official appearance four years after the drunk driving controversy.
There is growing interest in whether Bae Seung-woo can transform his drunken driving controversy into humor in the satirical and black comedy-rich 'SNL Korea 7.'
