Actor Park Hae-soo has hinted at a behavior befitting the nickname 'Netflix civil servant'.
On the episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' aired on 14th, media expert Professor Yoo Hyun-jae from the Department of Journalism and Broadcasting at Sogang University, actor Park Hae-soo, teacher Kim Ji-hwon who imparts life tips to children every morning, and teacher Lee Myung-hak who returned after 42 years in education grants appeared.
Yoo Jae-suk recited Park Hae-soo's filmography and asked, "There is a saying that you’re a Netflix civil servant. Have you signed a contract?" Park Hae-soo replied, "I haven't signed a contract yet," then noted that there are upcoming projects scheduled for release. Park Hae-soo, who has participated in seven Netflix projects so far, spoke enthusiastically about the baseball jumper, wine glass, psychics, and sleep gown all bearing the Netflix logo.
Park Hae-soo recalled his school days, stating that he had no significant ambitions for acting, saying, "I wandered a lot and traveled alone. Singer Lee Soo-young was a senior. There was a theater group called 'Wandering Stars.'" Yoo Jae-suk remarked, "Lee Soo-young said, 'You don’t have to act. You shine just by being present,'" and Park Hae-soo acknowledged that he looked good at that time.
Park Hae-soo shared, "I did a lot of serving part-time jobs. I also worked as a Santa delivering gifts to children's houses. I would ride in a van with my friend Rudolf. I was also the stage manager for Lee Moon-sae's concert." He mentioned that he spent time doing various jobs before making a name for himself as an actor.
Park Hae-soo recalled a memorable audience member. He said, "I performed in a play called 'Puberty.' The content is somewhat brutal. After it finished, a student didn’t want to leave and was crying. It seemed that they were contemplating ending their life. They said they were comforted and empowered by the work. A few years later, when I was performing in a region, that student was standing there. They expressed gratitude to me." He added, "Meeting such audience members makes me feel like I return to the starting point."
Park Hae-soo, who gained immense popularity from 'Squid Game,' joked about how things have changed for him after appearing in 'Squid Game,' saying, "I became a bit arrogant."
