The new standard for global K-pop awards, the '2nd KM Chart Awards,' will be hosted by trending actors Kim Hye-yoon and Ong Seong-wu.
The KMA organizing committee said on the 13th, "Kim Hye-yoon and Ong Seong-wu will be the hosts for the '2nd KM Chart Awards (hereinafter '2025 KMA'),' which will be held domestically on July 11." They noted that the two individuals with clear communication skills and witty remarks are expected to bring young energy and classy hosting to the '2025 KMA.'
The '2025 KMA,' organized by the K-Music specialized chart platform 'KM Chart,' pays tribute to the artists who have illuminated the music industry over the past year and the fans who supported them, offering a festive occasion. Following last year's successful first edition, where singers Lee Chan-won and Kwon Eun-bi served as hosts, the second edition is anticipated to bring new vitality with actors Kim Hye-yoon and Ong Seong-wu taking over the baton.
Kim Hye-yoon garnered attention last year for her delicate emotional performances in dramas such as 'Hongcheongi' and 'Extraordinary You,' establishing a solid narrative of youth and earning the title 'Kim Hye-yoon’s youthful work.' Having demonstrated her stable hosting abilities while serving as a live broadcast host at the SBS Acting Awards last year, expectations are high for her appearance in the '2025 KMA.'
Ong Seong-wu continues to be active as an actor, showcasing remarkable performances across genres in dramas such as 'Moment at Eighteen' and 'Strong Woman Do Bong-soon,' solidifying his position as a leading actor. Recently, he has displayed his witty remarks in various activities such as entertainment shows, fan meetings, and interviews, raising expectations for his performance at the '2025 KMA.'
The '2025 KMA' will officially change its name from the previously held 'Universal Superstar Awards (2024 USA),' which took place last year, offering even richer spectacles from this year on. It will enhance the dignity of the award ceremony by adding various performances across genres and diverse spectacles for global fans.
