An illegal scam impersonating broadcaster Lee Sugeun has occurred, prompting his agency to announce a strong response.

On the 13th, Big Planet Made announced in an official press release, “Recently, there have been scams aiming for financial gain by impersonating the manager of our associated broadcaster, Lee Sugeun,” and urged caution.

According to the agency, the impersonator claimed to be affiliated with Big Planet Made and even used forged business cards, attempting the ‘celebrity impersonation no-show’ scheme by reserving expensive wine (worth about 4 million won) at multiple restaurants in the Ulsan area.

The so-called ‘no-show scam’ is a method of making high-priced food or items reservations by posing as a celebrity, then failing to show up without any contact, causing actual financial damage to business owners.

The agency stated, “This act is a very serious illegal act, and there is a possibility of similar cases occurring, thus special caution is needed,” and noted, “We plan to take strong measures including criminal and civil legal actions against the impersonation and fraud activities.”

They added, “Your reports and cooperation are greatly helpful,” and requested continued attention to prevent similar damages.

Meanwhile, Lee Sugeun is currently active in various entertainment programs, and his agency, Big Planet Made, maintains a firm stance against celebrity impersonation crimes.
